12/08/09To Whom it MayConcern,

This note is to recommend Carolyn LePage for any suitable position you mayhave open in accounting. It was my privilege to work with Ms. LePage this past yearas Chair of North Mason Transit and before that as a board member. As a lay personnew to transit I found her explanations of budget matters clear and helpful As ChairI met with Ms. LePage and the staff before each monthly meeting to go over eachagenda item and most particularly the budget A central aim of these pre-meetingsis to review the agenda and anticipate areas in which there may be boarddiscussion. Financial matters are clearly central to anticipating board questions anddiscussion. I appreciated Ms. LePage's ability to identify particular budget itemsthat were distinctive for each of our monthly reporting periods and to place eachincome or expenditure item in the perspective of our on-going financial situation. Her comparisons and contrasts of our expenditures with previous months, or evenyears, on any particular item was particularly helpful. Also helpful was her ability torelate our financial picture to our sources of funding. Relying as we do for 40% ofour budget on grants the monies from these sources would come in at differenttimes. Ms. LePage was very helpful in enabling me, and other board members, tounderstand the yearly cycles and rhythms of our funding and cash flow. Clearly oneof the challenges in projecting budget estimates to anticipate future expenses is thefluctuation of prices; in our case fuel would be a prime example. Whenever I wouldask Ms Le Page about our assumptions concerning cost projections for fuel, or anyother item, I always received a clear explanation of the basis of her estimates alongwith illustrating examples to place them in context I consistently found Ms. LePageto be knowledgeable, helpful and easy to work with. I recommend her for herprofessional skills and for her ability to make the logic of financial reports clear sothat board members can identify areas where policy deliberation is appropriate.

Respectfully

~~

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of reference on behalf of Carolyn Lel'age. Carolyn workedfor Routh Crabtree Fennell from April 7,2000 to September 26,2003. Her title wasAccounting Manager and she supervised the Cash Receipts, Accounts Receivable,Accounts Payable, and Billing departments of the company. She was also solelyresponsible for the firm's payroll process.

Carolyn performed her duties in a very competent and conscientious manner. Herwork was accurate and completed in a timely basis. If the task required extra time inorder to complete, she was more than willing to put in the extra time. She was alsovery good in adapting to the many changes the company faced as it grew rapidlyduring her tenure here. She was able to modify and adopt procedures in order tomaintain an effective and efficient accounting system.

Her supervisory skills are excellent. She was able to hire and train a competent staffthat performed their duties well. The staff was motivated and turnover was low. While the company's volume doubled in size, the accounting department grew byless than 20%.

A letter of reference would be incomplete if it didn't cover the intangible qualitiesCarolyn brought to the company. As noted above, Carolyn was not onlyconscientious about her work, but about the success of the company as well. Sheassisted other departments that needed help and continually looked for -~.-,-improvements in the company's processes, She was very professional in dealingwith outside vendors and clients. Her communication skills are excellent.

It was a pleasure working with Carolyn and Iwould welcome the opportunity to doso again.
