Dear Hurricanes Fan:

Through 10 years of hockey in North Carolina, we have shared wins and losses, highs and lows, exhilarations and frustrations. The 2007-08 season gave us a taste of every one of those emotions. Our team battled through an unprecedented amount of adversity to win 43 games, as many wins as any season in the history of the franchise outside of our Stanley Cup year of 2005-06. We won 15 of the final 23 games and earned points in 15 of our last 17 home games. Ultimately, however, we fell one win short of a division championship. So the feeling we were all left with at the end of the season was disappointment, as we were unable to bring the playoffs back to North Carolina.

This off-season, we are determined to make the adjustments necessary to give the Hurricanes a chance to again compete for the Stanley Cup next spring. Our first order of business was to sign Sergei Samsonov, who was a strong fit for our team down the stretch. Other than Eric Staal, Sergei had more goals, assists and points than any Hurricane during his 38 games with the team. He and his family feel at home in Carolina, and at 29 years old, we believe he will be a productive member of our team for years to come.

As we continue to make changes to get our team back into the Stanley Cup playoffs, we will likely again see our overall team payroll increase prior to the start of next season. An important aspect of the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement that assists our team in staying competitive with larger-market franchises is revenue sharing. In order to meet the league’s financial obligations required to maximize our franchise’s potential revenue sharing, it has become necessary to adjust our pricing structure. With that, we have done our best to provide you with additional value to offset any changes in your overall cost, including additional bonus tickets and a gift incentive program.

One thing that was clear down the stretch of this past season was that the resiliency of our fans clearly matched that of our team. As the team fought through the injuries and illnesses, our crowds got bigger and louder, providing a terrific atmosphere to inspire our team. I believe that you will have plenty of reason to be loud again in 2008-09, and I hope that you will continue your support of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Season Ticket Gift Incentive ProgramIn an effort to add value to your season ticket package and overall fan experience, the Carolina Hurricanes are introducing a gift incentive program to complement your 2008-09 season ticket investment.

As you’ll see in the following pages, the gift incentive program has a variety of exclusive merchandise from which you can choose based on your Hurricanes season ticket commitment level. Whether you’re at the RBC Center tailgating before the game, on the golf course or at the gym; working hard at the office or hardly working at the beach; at home in your favorite sports room or traveling on vacation, you’ll be ready to sport your colors as a Carolina Hurricanes Season Ticket Holder!

How It Works1. Purchase your season tickets by Friday, June 13, 2008, and you will automatically receive points corresponding to your investment level. (See points chart.)

2. Between late August and early September, following our seat selection process and upon confirming all eligible account purchases, you will receive a statement verifying the number of points you have accumulated along with an order form from which to select your gifts.

3. All Account Holders that complete and return their gift incentive order form on or before the order deadline will receive gift vouchers corresponding to their orders. These vouchers will be redeemable at our Season Ticket Holder gift redemption event (date TBD).
