fire | burning chapelthe main idea was to create a relationship between fire and architecture. The link between them would be a burning chapel. A sculpture with enough dimensions to represent a construction but can also embrace different spaces before and after the fire. Ranges of different fire resistant marterials were considered.

The chapel is built using the technique of reinforced concrete with layers of wire mesh cast horizontally and tied with steel rods arranged horizontally, creating a dense and permeable envelope. Instead of using concrete, the space is created by air and light. Sheets of colorful plastic are placed between the layers of wire, creating a composition of lights and transparencies.

water | portuguese poolsDesigning a water layer, a pond, a swimming in a special place in the vague limit of the Atlantic Ocean with an abrupt and complex topography that will allow us to have a few toolsto find the limits. A place where the texture , brigthnes and weight of water will have the same importance as the program, the volume or the structure...

Inspired on the architecture of Alvaro Siza in his famous pools located in the coast of Palmeira, the program includes a number of pools that will contain a volume of water of 350m3 of water. The pools must include especial acess for disabled people as well as a parking area, restrooms and rest area.

The design is based in the idea of creating a set of platforms that lead you to a natural pool, framing the seascape and generating a new horizon. The use of these platforms change de-pending the sea level. The resting area is located between two walls of concrete. The material chosen for the construction of all the parts of this poject is concrete.

earth| underground houseLocated on Madrids north outlyning disctrict, the design of this house was particularly complex. The given plot was shared with an already existing house, so the building land according to legislation was almost non-existent. This fact led to the underground contidion of the house. The brief was also ambitious, since the client was an architect who ow-ned a collection of 10000 WHS and 20 oil paintings of great size. The earth volume removed also had to be recolocated.

The house design is based on the idea of an underground route. The house is built of stone and corten steel walls. The volume of extracted soil is used to raise the ground and increasing the slope. The end of the trail is uncovered to provide private access to the small garden at the end of the plot. The screenprinted skylights create a new image of the plot.

air | inhabited bridgeBridges are often considered to belong to the realm of engi-neering rather than architecture. In this case de design consis-ted on inhabiting a bridge by introducing activities. Location was not specified but it had to comunicate two tall mountains.

On the basis of this description of Italo Calvino in Invisible Ci-ties, I create floating platform, lighter than air, suspended in the abyss and changing height thanks to the installation loca-ted at bottom of it

Up there is faced with climate changes, the winds, the varia-tion of the clouds, is faced with their disturbing shapes, those that seem foam or water, is faced with their blows across the valley, definitely, is faced with the atmospheric alchemy.

If you choose to believe me, good. Now I will tell how Octavia, the spiderweb city, is made. There is a preci-pice between two steep mountains: the city is over the void, bound to the two crests with ropes and chains and catwalks... Below there is nothing for hundreds and hundreds of feet: a few clouds glide past; farther down you can glimpse the chasms bed.

    Bibliometro

The Bibliometro is located in Moncloa metro station, Madrid. It con-sists of two display walls parallel each other, a serie of moving boxes are embedded in them. This boxes meet the needs of the program: (counter, shelf, touch screens, etc.). The position of the boxes creates different spaces both inside and outside and generates a changing for-niture according to the need of the hour. Seeks to frame everything that happens at the station and close the full perimentro when it would be necessary.

    Library

The library is located in the West Park, Madrid. The project is generated from a serie of prisms sewn by a longitudinal element which acts as a thread that bastes sewing needles. It is placed between two different heights and situations, servering as a filter bet-ween both of them and framing the landscape for the enjoyment and contemplation. These prisms absorb light during the day and act as a flashlight at night.

  • The project is placed in Guardamar del Segura, its goal is to facilitate the pine forest and dunes as well as make visitable the Phoenician ruins found there.

I try to do compatible the development of activitires for visitors and the conservation of the environment. A wooden pavilon and promenade is projected intercalated between the arboreal mass. The relation with the outside is filtered through a wooden enclosure. The phenomena from one side are filtered to the other one creating an atmosphere that is perceived sensorially. Inner space is always full of outer space, can be felt the sun, the rain, the wind...In this way the atmosphere created is changing along the day and seasons.

    Santo Domingo square

Santo Domingo square is located in the centre of Madrid (Spain) near the Gran Va Street, a big important shopping and tourism street. It is been transformed several times during the last years and the goal is to find a new use for this area. The conditioning aspect is the slope in the land of almost seven meters.

The project consist of a ramp-building that saves the great difference of height existing there and sews two different areas of the city. This ramp unfolds in a spiral, and along this we find an outdoor market. The coil generates at its center an big empty space where street performances take place and the different levels serve as stands.

A reflexion about a certain building typology where different comercial uses are pilled up. The area where the project takes place is the well known Yasukuni-Dori Avenue in Tokyo, Japan. The building will be built in an incomplete three hundred square meters lot in the corner of a high-density block. It must represent heterogeneity across the different uses with a maximum legal heigh of 30 meters.

Based on the ever-changing program uses that has this type of building I design a structural steel crosslinks where only the nucleus of com-munication remanins fixed and by masonry walls different spaces are configured according to the designs of theneccesity of the moment. Depending on the privacy and light required for each use are used for its delimitation different opacities panels that form a space of lights, shadows and transparencies.

As Pontes Lake is an artificial lake located in the Nort of Galicia. This lake was created in the wake of recovery and regeneration the opencast mine that took the place of the lake, where used to be extracted the lignite to supply the thermal power plant of As Pontes.

The goal of the project is reactivate this lake actually unused and for-bidden to Swim.

After studing the problems of the Area I discovered that As Pontes is famously known as ``The Springfield of Galicia because is the biggest source of CO2 emission in Spain and one of the biggest of all Europe. For this reasson I propose an algao cultivation field, being that CO2 is the main nutriment that these plants need to live. Once completed the growth stage these algaes will be treated and used for produce biodie-sel, much less polluting than normal diesel.

The plot is situated in outstanding point of Poznan . Is delimited by three important street into which the three main entrances are open. The project stems from two main ideas, bring art closer to the citizens and get the maximum flexibility. To achieve these premises we propose a Museum like a public space, meeting space and iconic space creating an atomized structure; we take the basic elements of a museum and we spread all of them. The result is a new space of air crossed by people, where the classical section of a museum disappears leaving place a new kind of section for a museum, where the different spaces packed in slices become an unique and global space that contains everything.

  • The city of Poznan is sourrounded by number of fortress built in the 19th century to save the city of warfare attacks. Nowdays all of them have lost their function. The main goal of this project is the modernization of the fort II, actually abandoned and close to the citizens.

The new function for the fort is a homeless and social centre. After analyzing the problems of the city we noticed the big amount of people that is living outsite in really hard conditions and the lack of resources that the city offers. For this reason, we propose the programme `help each other where this collective is going to help us to reactivate the fort and we are going to help them to improve their quality of life.
