Yorkshire Air Ambulance: It may surprise you to know thatthe Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity relies on the generosity of individualsand organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire. In fact as a Charity weonly receive help through secondment of paramedics from the NHS,through Yorkshire Ambulance Service. To keep both of Yorkshire's air

ambulances in the air we need to raise 9990 per day. This is equivalent to 3.6 million per year. Asa rapid response air emergency service the Charity serves a population of approximately 5 millionpeople across 4 million acres. Our two air ambulances operate from The Nostell Priory Estate nearWakefield and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk, and together both air ambulances cover the whole of theregion. Yorkshire has a vast topography that not only includes remote, rural anddensely populated areas but also includes major motorways and road networks suchas the M62, M1, A1 and M18. The fast medical response that the air ambulanceservice provides is vital to a patient who has received major trauma, especially thosewith head and spinal injuries, as the air ambulance can avoid traffic congestion anduneven road surfaces.

Most regions hold exhibitions and demonstrate at showslocally, and a number get together annually to exhibit anddemonstrate at National Exhibitions. York St John University:York St John is a prestigious universitywith roots going back to the 1840s. York Diocesan TrainingSchool, for teacher education, opened in May 1841 with one pupilon the register, 16 year old Edward Preston Cordukes. (The current

Students Union building is named in his honour). 1846 saw the foundation of the FemaleTraining School which moved to Ripon in 1862. The college in York was described as StJohns College from the late 1890s. In September 2005 York St John was granted TaughtDegree Awarding Powers. Calderdale College: Calderdale College is the largestprovider of further education (post-16) courses and work-

based learning (Apprenticeships) and the sole provider ofhigher education awards in Calderdale, a Metropolitan Borough in WestYorkshire. Calderdale College engages with over 5,000 learners from sitesacross Calderdale. Wakefield Trinity Wildcats: Wakefield TrinityWildcats has played an integral part in the life of the peopleof Wakefield and the surrounding area since its formation in1873. Sport has the unique ability to raise the spirits and

Science: The University of Huddersfield became the

Times Higher Education University of the Year in

November 2013. School is an exciting place in which to

Northern Racing College:The Northern Racing College openedin 1984 and is situated in the beautiful grounds of Rossington Hall,on the Great North Road, approximately 7 miles south ofDoncaster. The facilities have been developed through funding from

the racing industry, generous donations and grants from statutoryand charitable sources and with the help of the Friends of NRC. TheNRC now boasts some wonderful facilities for the learners and

horses. It prides itself on being the Northern Centre of Excellence for the British RacingIndustry. The College is one of two dedicated training centres in Britain accredited by theBritish Horseracing Authority and supported by the British HorseracingEducation and Standards Trust. KITS: KITS principle activity and objectives stated in theMemorandum and Articles of Association are to provide facilities forand undertake and further assist in the provision of industrial andcommercial training for persons employed, in the engineering andkindred industries, by members of the company and others, andgenerally supervise and further the industrial, commercial and general

education of such persons. KITS was formed in 1991 following the merger between the

Halifax and District Group Training Organisation and the Kirklees Training Association. Themerger brought together two like-minded training organisations. At the outset, the aim of KITSwas to jointly develop a Centre of Excellence for Engineering Training andassociated skills in the Calderdale and Kirklees areas. This was enhanced during1994 with the opening of a new centre at Brighouse. Over the years KITS hascontinued to grow and has achieved a reputation for high quality cost effectivetraining resulting in the need to further expand the training facilities in 1998.

community supported bakery in the heart of Brighouse, combiningartisan bread, workshops and community outreach. We bake, sell and

teach real bread. All the bread made by LoveBread is handmade. We mix, knead, shape,

score and bake every loaf we sell making all our loaves unique. LoveBread

is run by bakers and volunteers who love baking bread. We want to involve

the local community in providing real bread for their community.
