REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION Real estate brokers and agents help clients buy, sell, and rent properties. Although brokers and agents to similar work, real estate brokers are licensed to manage their own business while real estate agents work with a broker on a contract basis and earning a commission. As independent businesspeople, brokers often sell real estate owned by others. They may also help rent or manage properties for a fee. Because of the complexity of buying or selling a home or commercial property, people often seek help from real estate brokers and sales agents. Brokers and agents can represent either the buyer or the seller in a transaction. Agents meet with clients to understand their property interests and price range. Brokers and agents meet with selling clients to help them decide the asking price and find qualified buyers. To match properties to clients’ needs, brokers and agents should be familiar with local communities, including crime information, proximity to schools, and shopping centers. Brokers and agents must also stay current on financing options, government programs, types of available mortgages, real estate zoning, and fair housing laws. PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCEDURE• Complete the Cisco College application.• Have all official transcripts sent to Cisco College Admissions Office.• Fill out FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).• Set and appointment with the CTE Counselor to discuss planning and

learn about the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) assessment.• Participate in student advisement with the Division Chair prior to

applying to the program.

this program

MUST BE 18 YEAR S OF AGE (In Texas, a person must be at least 18 years of age, a Texas resident, demonstrate integrity, satisfy certain educational requirements, and pass a state examination to recieve a license)

Additional factors considered for selection may be a satisfactory high school or college record, placemement/standard tests.

ADMITTANCE CRITERIA
