 Did you ever hear of a funny story before?

How do you think about a joke or an interesting

tale?

Can a funny thing add to the pleasure of your life?

I have a friend who is taxi driver. Although

he is not well off  and has a big family to

support, he takes the handicapped to the hospitals

for free occasionally.

One afternoon my friend felt

more or less weary. Since he was going to

work that evening, he intended to take a

rest.  

On his way home, an old woman stopped him

and said her husband was having trouble with

his heart, and hoped he could send him to a

hospital for a medical treatment. Of course,

my friend was ready to be of help.

As soon as my friend carried the old man

into his taxi, he hurried off towards a hospital

at once. He drove quite fast, while a few kids

were playing by the roadside.

A kid didn’t notice the taxi was running

towards him and suddenly rushed to the middle

of the road. My friend put on emergency

brake, but it was too late.

Unfortunately the boy was knocked down and

his right arm was seriously injured. As a result

, my friend had to beg another driver to send

the old man to the hospital and wait for the

policemen to come to deal with the accident.

My friend paid much money for the

expenses of the boy’s operation and medicine.

After two months, in the court the boy

couldn’t raise his hand higher than his nose.

The boy’s lawyer insisted the boy had to stay

longer in the hospital.

However, my friend thought for a while and

asked the boy, “How high had you been able

to put up your hand before your right arm was

injured?”

The boy lifted both his arms higher

than his head. The people in the court

burst into laughter and the judge told the boy

to leave the hospital right away.

Although he is not well off and has a big family to

support, he takes the handicapped to the hospital for free.
