The Cardiac Surgery program opened in December 2012 with 6 CSICU beds and has expanded with the opening of the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre at Kelowna General Hospital. Our department provides an exceptional professional environment for critical care nursing and our nurses have excellent clinical and communication skills, a high commitment to professionalism and commitment as team players. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health. We offer generous vacation entitlement and Pension Plan. Relocation allowance is offered to eligible new employees. Qualifications • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). • Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (Critical Care), one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment (such as CSICU, CCU, or ICU) on a unit similar in size and scope to the facility • BCLS within 3 years
