Transcript of Cardboard Furniture Design : Portable Drawer and Shelf
First we need to design the outer chamber. For this we measure 3ft x 3 ft cardboard sheets and make 5 such pieces. They are then clamped together using tape and glue to get the outer shell of the portable drawers.
We have to keep one face open which will accommodate the drawers.
We then cut a piece of 2&1/2 ft x 4 ft cardboard and insert in slits on the two sides of the outer shelf (across the middle).
The cardboard now sticks out of both the sides acting as handles and making the shelf portable. Its purpose is dual as it also supports the top drawer.
Now we design each drawer (the top one being smaller and the bottom one being larger to hold bigger items).
We then make the drawers such that they fit snugly into the outer shelf and use a cardboard support at the back so that it prevents the drawers from going fully behind or coming fully out and falling off.
