Introduction
Carbon Credentials has put together the following CDP score benchmarks based on the data provided by CDP.
Companies are ranked based on their 2015 disclosure score (i.e. the number out of 100). The disclosure score assesses the
completeness and quality of a company’s response. Its purpose is to provide a summary of the extent to which companies have
answered the questionnaire in a structured format. A high disclosure score signals that a company provided comprehensive
information about the measurement and management of its carbon footprint, its climate change strategy and risk management
processes and outcomes.
A company’s performance score is indicated by the letter above each bar chart. The performance score assesses the level of
action on climate change mitigation, adaptation and transparency. A high performance score signals that a company is
measuring, verifying and managing its carbon footprint, for example by setting and meeting carbon reduction targets and
implementing programs to reduce emissions in both its direct operations and supply chain.
The companies included are mainly UK listed companies but in some instances we have included data from other countries to
provide interesting comparison.
Where a company is coloured in green this indicates that it verified both its Scope 1 and 2 emissions in the 2015 CDP disclosure
cycle; where a company is coloured red, it did not verify its Scope 1 and 2 emissions; and where a company is coloured in
orange, it is unknown whether or not their 2015 emissions were verified.
