At Kulzer, we design all of our cara Mill solutions as part of an open, yet comprehensive manufacturing process to help laboratories of all sizes enhance their existing in-house manufacturing capabilities. The system can cover your every need in the area of milling, yet it is open and also compatible with materials from other sources.

cara offers five different mills, ranging from a compact, benchtop solution to a powerful, 24-hour output-boosting solution. The new PRO(fessional) lines of the cara Mill 3.5 and 3.5L provide maximum stability for vibration-free pro-cessing. In addition, the high-dynamic servo motors with absolute measuring system in all axes increase processing speed by up to 20 % while maintaining optimum precision. All mills are based on Kulzer’s many years of experience with centralised CAD/CAM production.

CONSULTATION IMPRESSION DIGITIZATION

The complete digital workflow starts by recording the data via scanner, such as cara Scan 4.0. Next, the restoration can be designed using our cara CAD software, or the software of your choice. Finally, the restoration is produced in cara Mill 2.5, 3.5, 3.5 PRO, 3.5L or 3.5L PRO.

The mills can be accompanied by the cara Mill Sinter zirconia furnace and cara Mill Vac eco+ extraction unit, available separately. You’ll also have access to a full range of premium milling and grinding accessories.

With its space-saving and premium design, cara Mill 2.5 is a precise and sturdy milling machine for wet and dry processing. It’s your gateway to in-house 5-axis milling, so you can machine all key dental materials such as zirconia, PMMA acrylis, wax, lithium disili-cate, glass ceramic and hybrid materials.

Wide range of indications guaranteed

Milling or grinding: With this benchtop milling machine, you can produce all the most common indications. Depending on the material, it is possible to produce crowns and up to 16 unit bridges, inlays, onlays and telescopes, as well as 2-piece abutments, night-guards and functional splints.

A single framework can be produced in as little as 10 minutes. Out of one disc you can get easily up to 20 or more units. Block materials can be grinded as well by using a special adapter. Additionally, it is possible to produce Titanium abutments with a Ti-Preform adapter. Two systems (Medentika and NT Trading) are available.

With 6 mm mill tools, cara Mill 3.5, 3.5 PRO is a more powerful, and more technically sophisticated mill in the cara family. It has simultaneous 5-axis machining capabilities and up to a 30° axis tilt angle. cara Mill 3.5L, 3.5L PRO is basically the same workhorse as cara Mill 3.5, 3.5 PRO, but with the additional benefits of having an integrated disc loader and a precise, zero point clamping system. The loader system allows you to store up to 12 discs for fully automated milling over longer periods, also made feasible by a 20-fold tool changer. This enables the mill to operate at full capacity round the clock and even over the weekends.

cara Mill CAM 4 & 5 Control software for getting started and going in-depthcara Mill CAM 4 is our “basic” CAM software with no licensing fees. The straight-forward interface is perfect for technicians who are just getting started with milling on a machine like cara Mill 2.5. The software allows for 3 + 2-axes milling in a simple, user-friendly format.

cara Mill CAM 5 is the software of choice for experienced professionals who want to take full advantage of the diverse functionalities of sophisticated milling machines like cara Mill 3.5, 3.5 PRO and 3.5L, 3.5L PRO – but the software is also suitable for cara Mill 2.5. cara Mill CAM 5 allows for simultan eous 5-axes milling in a user-friendly, but in-depth and sophisticated format.

Milling tools and accessoriesExacting detailOur milling cutters and grinders meet the highest technical requirements and are extremely cost-efficient due to their long service lives. Milling tools are available with diamond nanoparticle coatings or abrasion-proof galvanic diamond coatings, and specialised tools are available for special cutting geometries.

The tools can be purchased with a 3 mm shaft (e.g. for cara Mill 2.5) or with an extra-sturdy 6 mm shaft (cara Mill 3.5 / 3.5 PRO and 3.5L / 3.5L PRO). The 3 mm cutters and grinders are capable of milling zirconia, PMMA acrylics, nanocomposites, wax blanks and Ti-preform-abutments with a height of up to 30 mm. Those with a 6 mm shaft are also capable of milling cobalt chrome and titanium.

In addition, there are various preform abutment holders available, which allow simultaneous processing of six blanks in a single operation, and to mill or grind up to 3 block materials with a glass-ceramic adapter respectively.

cara Mill Vac eco+

The quiet power of cleancara Mill Vac eco+ is a quiet, compact and powerful dust-extraction solution. This high-performance unit reliably evacuates particles and provides filtration of fumes and fine dust generated by dental marking, milling, cutting, etching or engraving. The low-noise suction system – below 75 dB – also uses a downstream HEPA filter to prevent residual particles from leaking out.
