Cindy & Jeff Lynne & Jeff Dear Families and Friends, More than a year ago, we began to explore the possibility of entering into a fundraising campaign to address several specific capital needs that would serve our students and continue the process of developing our campus for 500 students. We contracted with Latimer and Associates to survey many members of our Houston Christian community, identifying priorities and concerns that have guided our planning and progress. Several families made early giſt commitments enabling us to build the concessions and restroom facilities on the visitor side of the football field in time for the beginning of the 2011 spring sports season. In March 2011, the Board of Trustees voted to begin the renovation of the library into the Center for Scholars and Leaders. In addition, every member of the board made pledges to show their leadership and commitment. God’s hand was on the construction workers as they worked diligently throughout the summer in order to complete the renovation by August, in time for the beginning of this school year. If you have not been in the CSL, I urge you to visit it soon. It is a magnificent addition to our facilities. We are now praying and preparing to share the vision and plans, for the Student Center and the renovations for the Drake Performing Arts Center, with our parents, grandparents, alumni parents and friends in the Houston community. During October and early November, we will be having several parent meetings in homes and at school and a luncheon for grandparents, alumni parents and friends on October 26. I encourage you to participate in one of these meetings. en on Monday, November 14, we will come together for an evening of prayer and praise, asking our families to make their pledge commitments to the MANY Giſts, ONE Vision Annual Fund and the Forward in Faith Capital Campaign. Expecting God’s provision and our school community’s faithfulness, we are preparing for the possibility of breaking ground in early 2012. To our senior families, you have enjoyed the benefits of the generosity of those who have come before you; and to our freshmen families, you have been a part of our Mustang Community for only a short while, but know that God has and will continue to work through our board, parents, grandparents and friends to finish the good work that He has begun at Houston Christian. We ask that you prayerfully consider what part you will play as we move Forward in Faith, not only to benefit our current students, but those who will be Mustangs in the years to come. Houston Christian is moving forward with a bold vision. We invite you to

join us as we embark upon the Forward in Faith Capital Campaign to raise $12.5 million to provide excellent facilities which will place HC at the forefront for leadership, scholarship and technology and expand our presence among the nation’s fi nest Christian high schools. In addition, even during a capital campaign, it is important to support the MANY Gift s, ONE Vision Annual Fund which will provide $450,000 in unrestricted operating support for the sustainability of the excellent education families expect the school to provide for their children.Th e entire Houston Christian community, including the board, faculty and staff , parents, grandparents, alumni and alumni parents, will be asked to participate in the annual fund and the capital campaign. Because campaigns are conducted sequentially, some members of the HC community may not be contacted right away, but everyone will have an opportunity to be a part of this important event in the school’s history. Making HC a philanthropic priority will ensure the success of these fundraising campaigns.
