INTRODUCTION:

EMCO Building is a specialist Commercial and Industrial building company which has been operating in WAsince 1986. We have built our company on the strong foundations of quality, service and reputation.

EMCO Building has significant experience in all areas of the commercial construction sector including but notlimited to Retail, Sporting Facilities, Education, Health & Aged Care, Apartment & Multi Residential, Heritage,Commercial New Builds, Major Refurbishments, New Office Fit Out, Civil and Industrial along with a numberof Design and Construct projects.

Our experience ensures we are uniquely positioned to offer high quality and cost effective building solutionsthrough clear understanding of the Client’s needs and a cooperative and proactive approach to problemsolving. EMCO Building have completed many projects in live situations with the premises remainingoperational and EMCO Building complying with the highest OHS & E standards.

The EMCO Building experience is backed by the capability of our highly skilled and professionally qualifiedManagement team, which covers the full spectrum of professions from Engineering through to QuantitySurveying, Estimating, Contract Management, Site Management, Marketing, Accounting etc.

EMCO Building are a ‘Category 5 Complex’ registered builder under the State Governments pre-registrationscheme which is the highest categorization a builder can attain, and pre-qualifies us to tender on allGovernment building works with a value up to $50 Million.

EMCO Building is accredited under both AS4801 and the Federal OHS Accreditation Scheme.

EMCO Building complies with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Codeof Practice for the Construction Industry 2009.

EMCO Building are currently working with an external Quality Advisor to achieve ISO9001:2015 QualityManagement Systems and ISO14001:2015 Environmental.

EMCO Building has been operating successfully for over 30 years. EMCO Building is owned and operated byDirector John Ripp, who is very active in the company on a daily basis. EMCO Building trade profitably andhave ample financial resources to complete the proposed project. We will be able to fulfil our commitmentsfrom our own resources, without the need for an overdraft. References from our bank, accountant and ourAudited Company accounts are available on request.

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE

EMCO Building has extensive experience across all aspects of the commercial and education market includingvarious Auditorium facilities. The following examples demonstrate our capability across the sector.

ALL SAINTS COLLEGE – 2016

Construction of a 3 storey Year 5 and 6 teaching building structure containing 10 GLA rooms, an innovativelearning area, and general amphitheatre. Internal and external walls are clad with limestone and featurebrickwork. The hallways and corridors have recessed ‘learning pods’ for student use, internal occupied stairsare clad with black butt and the external amphitheatre is terraced limestone. 60,000 plastic bottles wererecycled for the production of the carpet tiles for this project.

This project was completed on a live site while the school remained fully operational.

CHURCHLANDS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL - 2012

The Construction of a New Music Auditorium at Churchlands Senior High School. The new auditorium hasbeen constructed as the new entry statement to the school. The project was completed whilst the schoolremained fully operational. The new auditorium seats 504 and also includes teaching areas, music studios,communal facilities, choral studio and external landscaping works. As the School was going to be hiring thefacility out for major international events there was a very high level of AV and stage equipment included inthe project.

LA SALLE COLLEGE - 2010

A complex refurbishment, alterations and extensions project carried out whilst the college remained fullyoccupied and operational. This 2-stage project comprised of a new 2 storey modern gymnasium and therefurbishment of the existing Gymnasium into a New Senior School teaching facility and auditorium. Thegymnasium includes 5 learning areas, sports courts and changing facilities and the conversion of a 28 yearold building into a state of the art learning facility and auditorium along with all associated landscape andtraffic ways.

The Project was awarded to EMCO Building following a competitive tender process and at the Project Prestartmeeting the client made a request for 50% of the project to be delivered in 16 weeks, 10 weeks ahead oftime. This challenge was met with gusto and enthusiasm by the project team and with a hand shake weagreed to attempt the challenge.

We completed the Refurbishment works in 15 weeks to the delight of the College, who used the facility forthe 2009 TEE Exams. The rest of the project was handed over ahead of time and to our tendered sum.

This project won the Best Educational Project 2010 at the MBA Awards and we were then awarded the nextstage of the school’s construction development.

PRENDIVILLE COLLEGE PERFORMING ARTS - 2007

A new Performing Arts building complete with full back and front of stage facilities, sound proof music roomsand teaching areas. The auditorium seats 500.

The contract required major design input and careful construction methodology to erect the rear slantingprecast concrete panels of the Auditorium which were at a 5:1 pitch. With both structural steel andmezzanine concrete suspended slab interfacing with these panels, the final construction sequence wasimpressive.

MOUNT PLEASANT BAPTIST COLLEGE – 2007

Baptist Community College is a single Storey building, comprised of Concrete Panels and Metal Roof. Thefacility included an Auditorium that seats 830 people as well as state of the art AV Equipment and recordingstudio to cater for the music department. The roof and ceiling design was quiet complex and Foyer consistedof Octagonal shape Ceilings. There was also a sporting hall, child care centre facilities, playground area,classrooms, tea room and offices to run the college. A Commercial Kitchen was also constructed. The projectalso included extensive front and rear parking areas.

JOHN CURTIN COLLEGE OF THE ARTS - 2004

A high profile performing arts building with full front and back stage facilities. The auditorium seats approx800. The blue glass curtain walling to the facades is complemented internally with full height white precastconcrete panels. The building is a land mark structure sitting high up in East Fremantle and is visible fromland and sea and includes extensive front and back house facilities, Audio Visual services and stageequipment.

CHISHOLM CATHOLIC COLLEGE - 2003

A complex purpose built Senior School campus constructed on the same grounds as the existing JuniorSchool. Work involved new 2 storey teaching blocks, administration, canteen, lecture theatre to seat approx450 and manual arts building as well as the entire supporting infrastructure. The work had to be carried outwhilst the existing Junior School remained fully operational and in a very tight programme.

John G. Ripp - Director

John has an extensive background in the management ofengineering and project oriented companies. He holds anAssoc. Mech. Eng., B. Commerce, is a C.P. Eng. and is amember of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He is alsoa member of the College of Mechanical Engineers. He hasover 30 years of experience in construction, mechanicalservices and direct management and control of businessesboth in Australia and the USA.

John focuses on the administration and financialmanagement of the business.

Ron Keogh – CEO

Ron has been with EMCO Building since February 2000initially as Business Development Manager before beingpromoted to General Manager in 2008 and most recentlyto CEO. Ron has many year’s management experience inspecialist construction companies including a number ofyears with a large UK precast concrete producer.Ron holds an Honor’s Degree in Economics, A PostGraduate Diploma in International Marketing, andAdvanced Certificate from the Institute of Management.Ron’s primary focus is on developing and implementingstrategies for business growth to meet our statedbusiness objectives as well as the general management ofthe business.
