IntroductionThe changes to CAO 48.1 aligns the Flight Time Limitations with ICAO’s – Standards and Recommended Practices. These recommendations include alignment with today’s Fatigue Science. The new regulations contains many new concepts such as Time Zone Adaptation, Task Load based upon the number of flight segments within a Flight Duty Period (FDP). The new regulation also improves the limitations by using more realistic diurnal components and improving the use of augmented flight crews. This document will provide an aid to certificate holders operating under complex operations found in Appendix 2.
