In Can’t Stop he exaggerates his mouth movements to overemphasize the lyrics and the voice. Authenticity of performance is shown through the performance shots. The whole band are on a stage set up with all the instruments as if they are performing to an audience, this conforms to Funk Rock conventions as it suggests the band have real talent. Intertextuality. Modern art is included in the video, inspiration was taken from Erwin Wurm’s ‘One Minute Sculptures’. This creates an interesting and alternative image for the band and makes them appear more quirky through the use of abstract art. The CU instrument shots are conforming to stereotypes of Funk Rock. Also the ‘costume’ and appearance of the band members who have a naked chest and tattoos suggest a chaotic and alternative personality. The camera follows the lead singer, he is given prevalence and this is an example of Can’t Stop, Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Romanek, 2003)
