Swimming Carnival What a fantastic swimming carnival last Friday! Thank you to Cowra Public School for organis- ing such a great event. Our swimmers all swam amazingly well, from what I could see most of our swimmers achieved PBs. We had a number of swimmers go through to Western Trials next Friday 4th March in Dubbo which was great to see. A special mention goes to our Junior boys relay team who came first, beating Mulyan and Cowra Public school, who have been dominant over the past few decades. Well done boys and congratulation to all our relay teams. They all made it to Dubbo! Water It is going o be a very hot week. Please ensure your child has lots of water – not cordial. We encourage drinking water in class and cordial is not allowed as it is sticky and it doesn’t quench thirst. Crunch and Sip encourages water and fruit at 10am. Canberra Raiders Last Wednesday the Canberra Raiders visited our school. There were several big name players including Blake Austin. The players spent about Canowindra Public School Striving for Sucess Newsletter Term 1 Week 5 22nd February 2016 an hour speaking to Years 3-6 about healthy eating, exercise and the importance of sleep. Over the years our school has had several NRL teams visit and these presentations get better and better each year. Hopefully some families had a nice night out watching the Raiders and Knights on Saturday in Orange! Principals’ Induction Conference This Mon- Wed I’ll be at the Principals’ Induction Conference in Sydney. There will be 170 new principals inducted over 3 days. This should be a great learning experience and put me in good stead for the rest of my tenor as Principal at Canowindra Public School. Mrs McLaughlan and Mrs Lloyd will be in charge while I’m away.
