Thank you to the Year 6 students who led the way; Cedar and Will laid the wreath on behalf of our school, and Jy and Milly (Jazzy) laid the wreath on behalf of Hon Andrew Gee MP, Member for Calare. Many of our ex-students marched and played in the Orange High School band as well. Thanks to all for coming along. OSSA (Green & White) Cross Country The OSSA Cross Country has been postponed due to the rain forecast for Friday. It has been moved to Monday 6 th May at the same venue. If you need assistance with transport please contact the office. It is for all students aged between 8-12 years. Younger students are also welcome to compete and must nominate and collect a note from the office. Please return notes if not done already. Students with asthma must report to the teachers to be given a wrist band to wear, and must also carry their puffers with them on the run. NAPLAN Naplan testing will happen in week 3. We aim to keep it as low-impact as possible. It should be seen as a method of collecting data on one day that the school uses for future planning. It is not a competition or something where any pressure needs to be applied. Please assist us in keeping the pressure down. Band Band will resume this Friday. There is a time adjustment for this term; Big Band will begin at 8.30 so that there is enough time to move through all groups. Violin Sadly Andrew Baker will not be returning to take our strings group this term. In his place, Alina Zborowski from the Conservatorium will begin lessons soon. It is anticipated that it will happen in same time and place with as little change as possible. We will advise before it all kicks off. We would like to thank Andrew for all of the excellent work he has done with our string players over the years. Theatre There will be a few exciting theatrical experiences for our students over the coming weeks. (See calendar at the side). Please watch out for notes coming home. CWA Public Speaking Last term all students in Years 3-6 prepared and presented a 2-minute speech for their class. They were all presented very well indeed! Congratulations to Matilda Rees, Hailey Priest, Alisha Cianfrano and Caitlyn Thew who will go on to represent Canobolas PS at the Central Western Schools’ Competition.
