A History of Hemp

The Chinese emperor Shen Hung recorded the first medicinal use of hemp, a plant commonly used for fibers and textiles.

Hemp is grown by most major farms and is a staple of agriculture and is listed in the US Official Drug Reference Manual as a legitimate treatment for a wide range of ailments.

1850

1937 The passage of the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 ended the role of cannabis as a medicine in the United States. Following this, cannabis (including hemp) became prohibited throughout much of the world.

2012 Kannaway and our group of companies became the first to launch a commercial CBD product and sell in the US.

WHAT IS CANNABIS?Cannabis is the name of a group of plants in the Cannabaceae (canna-bay-see-eye) family. Within the group there are different plants, and the most commonly know are two called Hemp and Marijuana.

Cannabinoids found in plants like hemp, including cannabidiol (CBD), are analogous to the endocannabinoids naturally produced by the body. Research shows that they interact with the cannabinoid receptors of the endocannabinoid system to elicit chemical responses that help bring about homeostasis.

Process

Green Oi lThis oil is raw CBD hemp oil with all the natural plant material found in the hemp plant at harvest.

Blue Oi lThis is our favorite oil full of more than 100 cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids the body needs to have maximum effect.

Gold Oi lFor maximum refinement, this oil goes through a state-of-the-art filtration process to remove some plant material, leaving a golden honey-colored oil .

Three Key Ingredients

Green Hemp Oil

This thick and tarry paste is the rawest

form of hemp oil.

The taste of Green Oil is quite strong

and natural, as it has gone though

very little refinement and handling.

This lack of processing makes it a great

source of cannabidiolic acid (CBDa),

CBD, and other phytocannabinoids

naturally found in hemp.

Blue Hemp Oil

The next stage of hemp oil was created by taking the raw CBD-rich Green Oil and using a decarboxylation process to turn the acid (CBDa) into the more active form of CBD.

The end result is called Blue Oil, a product with improved taste, increased CBD content, and all the other nutrients found in hemp, including phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and fatty acids.

Gold Hemp Oil

Still searching for ways to remove more of the plant material, yet preserve the CBD concentration, Kannaway worked with a unique distillation process to produce Gold Oil.

The decarboxylation process helps filter the hemp oil for maximum refinement, and even higher levels of CBD. The end result is a hemp oil that is golden and honey-like in consistency.
