Thank You for Your Generosity
Back in October, VLFCU celebrated International Credit Union Appreciation Day.
Members were treated with refreshments, giveaways, free shredding, and a chance
to win a tailgate package. Ten such prizes were awarded and included a VLFCU BBQ
set, a camping chair, and $25 Visa gift card. Congratulations to the following members
who won: Gary Antonelli, Cheryl Blanc, George Calvert, Jacob Fresch, Hayley Jeremay,
Shermaine Johnson, Trystan Mesenburg, Lovie Moats, Susan Snyder, and Jackie Wimer.
VacationLand Federal Credit Union thanks our membership and the community for their kindness over the holiday season. Whether you donated to Coats for Caring, the VLFCU Annual Toy Drive, or both, we are grateful for your generosity. We wish you all a happy, healthy & successful New Year!
A SPECIAL DAY FOR MEMBERS
A BITTERSWEET SENDOFFIf you have been a member within the last three
decades, you more than likely have had the
pleasure of meeting Barbara Yost. Recently,
Barbara announced her intentions to retire on
April 1, 2019, and reluctantly we accepted!
Barbara started her career with VLFCU on March
4, 1986 as a part-time teller who also helped
with opening new accounts. Soon aft er, she was
provided with full-time hours and later served our
members in the capacity of loan clerk, loan off icer,
centralized lender, and mortgage off icer. All of this
experience helped prepare her to become a branch
manager in 2003. Over the last 16 years, she has
managed at both of our Sandusky branches, and
currently is located at our Hayes Avenue branch. As
part of her responsibilities, she has also served as
the Facilities Manager.
According to Barbara, “I was aff orded many
opportunities throughout my years at VacationLand
which I am very grateful for. It’s been a memorable
ride with a remarkable community of people.”
Barbara says she started working to make sure
that her two children did not have to worry about
college debt. Now with six grandchildren, she and
her husband John would understandably like to
spend more time with family.
“I would like to thank our Board of Directors, past and present as well as our CEOs past and present for allowing me to be a part of such a great organization. Their support along with the support of my peers, staff and our membership is appreciated and will never be forgotten.”
CEO, Bryan Myers, shares, “thank
you Barbara for all your hard work,
dedication and member service
throughout your tenure at VLFCU. You
have been a tremendous asset to our
organization, and your presence here
will be missed by all of us.”
If you get a chance, stop
by our Hayes Avenue
branch to wish Barbara a
happy retirement; just be
ready for a few tears!
THANK YOU FOR
You r Gener osity

At the end of November, VLFCU was able to make four donations to area non-profits due to monies available in our candy bar sales and
employee jean day funds. Members purchase candy bars throughout the year from our tellers, while employees donate $1 on Fridays and
Saturdays to wear jeans. Aft er consideration by a committee and employee input, donations totaling $5,000 were made to the Salvation
Army of Sandusky, the Humane Society of Erie County, Victory Kitchen, and Serving Our Seniors. We will be making another donation in early
January to Safe Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter. We thank these community-minded organizations for their service and support!

On December 1, 2018, we increased our insurance coverage for depository
accounts to $750,000! This is exceptional coverage compared to most
financial institutions across the country. The first $250,000 is provided by
the NCUA Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). An additional $500,000 is made
available through private insurance from Excess Share Insurance (ESI).
