• JAE is a centralised posting exercise conducted annually by MOE for holders of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level certificate to apply for admission to courses offered by Junior Colleges (JC), Millennia Institute (MI), Polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
• Please refer to the JAE information booklet for more details pertaining to the exercise. The information is also available on the JAE website at www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/jae

• The JAE Registration period :3.00pm on 13 Jan 2020 to 4.00pm on 17 Jan 2020
• Registration for courses under the JAE should be submitted through the JAE-Internet System (JAE-IS) using the JAE PIN found in Form A

• What am I good at? Are there areas that I am interested in?• Think about type of courses you have
strengths and are interested in• For example, you may be interested in
engineering, healthcare or design courses
• Where should I go?• List down all the institutions that offer courses that are aligned to
your interests• For example, if you are interested in design, you could list down
the design courses offered by the polytechnics, such as the Diploma in Immersive Media, offered by NP or Diploma in Sonic Arts, offered by RP. You can also consider courses offered by ITE such as the Higher Nitec in Interactive Design or the Higher Nitecin Visual Effects.

• How do I check for my JAE appeals outcome? • You will be informed of your appeal outcome
through the online appeals portal, as well as through SMS notifications
• Look out for your appeal outcome, and consider the course your were posted to carefully
• From 2019, if you did not receive a posting by the end of JAE appeals, you will be offered an alternative course as an additional option
• If you are offered an alternative posting, do accept it and give it a try, as it will give you a chance to continue your studies

• Can I still appeal after the end of JAE appeals?
• You can still appeal directly to the polytechnics and ITE directly for courses that you are interested in
• You can do this even if you have accepted the posting offered through JAE appeals

You are advised to make full use of the 12 choices, where applicable.
You are advised to print and retain a copy of the Verification Slip for your record after you have submitted your application online.
Interpreting Form A for Post-Secondary Admission
The net aggregate of the lowest ranked studentswho were admitted to the JC, MI, Polytechnic, HigherNitec and ITE courses through the 2019 JAE aremeant to as a reference for applicants and do notconstitute the admission scores for subsequentadmission exercises.
Re-admission of 2019 GCE O-Level Students
Sec 4E and Sec 5N students are allowed to repeat the O-Level Examination only if they satisfy all the criteria below: • Obtained no more than 2 GCE O-Level passes and an
aggregate of 44 points or less in 5 subjects (excluding CCA bonus points), or
• Obtained 3 or more GCE O-Level passes but do not qualify for admission to Junior Colleges, Millennia Institute or Polytechnics.
Re-admission of 2019 GCE O-Level Students
• Had been enrolled in a mainstream secondary school in 2019.
• Will not be more than 4 years overage, for Singapore Citizens/ Permanent Residents or Will not be more than 2 years overage, for International Students
• Sat for the GCE O-Level Examination for the first time in 2019
