The Learning Exchange is currently seeking a Proj ect C om m uni ty C ons ulta nt to carry out the Arts, Culture & Education (ACE) Community project funded by Canadian Heritage. The project aims to bring together local organizations, businesses,artisans, schools/educators, and cultural groups in an effort to collaborate, exchange knowledge and resources, and promote English-language service within the Laval and North Shore community.

T h e c a n di date w il l be res pon sibl e t o:

• Research and contact/visit community businesses, artisans, schools/educators, cultural groups, partners, etc.• Develop strategies and an action plan to establish productive relations and coordinated interaction with key partners• Establish links with the English speaking community and recruit new members through community contacts

• Promote already existing TLE services and identify any needed ones

• Establish methods for regular communication and networking opportunities• Work through project objectives, evaluate overall success of project and define future needs• Submit articles/info to media and for newsletters regarding project initiatives and updates• Work under supervision of TLE Executive Director/Project Manager 

 

Id eal can did ates sh ould :

• Be familiar with TLE’s mission and activities• Be able to travel within Laval/North Shore as well as other areas established as pertinent to project• Be able to communicate effectively in both English and French (written and spoken)• Hold an undergraduate degree relevant to project’s functions• Be self-driven and organized ~ Have flexible work schedule to be able to work from a home office and TLE office• Have relevant expertise in computer skills, such as Microsoft Office applications• Have experience in networking, communications, public relations and/or marketing• Have experience in the Adult Education sector: Community and/or school board (Literacy experience an asset)

Te rm s and C o nditi ons

Salary: $5,000 contract (part time work)Duration: Project starts immediately and must be completed by April 30, 2009
