- In dis tric t Meetings• Share good information
with people most able to do something about the problems we’re so concerned about;
• Give voice to people from around the world who live on less than $1 a day, but lack a voice in our political system;
• Let legislators know there are people in their district or state that care about these issues. After all, you are a voter.
– CAN Succes s DRC, 2006November –
CARE supporter and donor in Illinois, happens to be a large IL GOP donor. We ask him to call Speaker Dennis Hastert to get the DRC bill on the suspensions calendar. The two connect, his persuasion works, the bill passes.
– CAN Succes s Farm Bill 2007November –
Farm Bill markup is rumored to have devastating amendment offered by Sen. Roberts (R-KS). CAN reaches out to Senators on Agriculture Committee.
Klobuchar, Coleman, Casey and Chambliss receive calls
Sen. Roberts’ amendment was met with silence and aides say it was due to this outreach
