    When facing a lot ofchange

    Dear friends in Christ,

Thank you for the honor andprivilege of serving you for a fewmonths as one of your vacancypastors. I deeply appreciate themission and ministry that Church of All Nations has and has had for manydecades. I pray my wife and I can bean encouragement to you as you looktoward your future and seek God for who will be your next pastor.

I keep you in my thoughts andprayers often, and one of the things Ipray about for you has to do with allthe changes that you have been andare and will be going through. In life, we are always having to deal withchange. But as a congregation, youhave been going through and facing alot of changes recently.

And two of the biggest reasons thatchange can be difcult are:

The loss of the known, and the fearof the unknown.

Change can sometimes be verydifcult because of FEARS WE HAVEof the unknown, and the PAIN ANDLOSS we are going to feel as we giveup or lose things we have known orhave had. I am sure many of you arefeeling the loss of a pastor, his wife, and other people you love deeply. You are feeling the loss of things that were familiar and that mattered to you. Some others of you, I am sure,

are feeling a sense of fear, anxiety, orfrustration over the unknowns thatlie ahead for Church of All Nations. These are all very understandable, normal, and healthy feelings to have.

Jesus knows what you are goingthrough. And Jesus understands. Infact, following Jesus as His disciplesinvolves coming face-to-face with lossand face-to-face with fear.

    Luke 9:22-24

And he said, "The Son of Man must suffermany things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he

must be killed and on the third day beraised to life." Then he said to themall: "If anyone would come after me,he must deny himself and take up hiscross daily and follow me. For

whoever wants to save his life willlose it, but whoever loses his life forme will save it.

Denying ourselves involves loss.Following Jesus into theunknown involves facing fear.

It is impossible to be a discipleand follower of Jesus and toobey His command to followHim and make disciples of allnations without coming face-to-face with loss and fear. But it isin trusting and following God,

despite our fears, and giving up whatever God asks us to giveup in order to follow Him,despite our desires, that Histransforming power not only owsINTO us, but that His transformationpower can also ow THROUGH us.

I hope you are able to remember andhold onto three very importanttruths right now: First, God and Hislove for you has not changed, two,God and His mission for you as acongregation has not changed, andthird, Jesus and His presence with you has not changed!

As you move forward and navigate anunknown future, know that Jesus has been ahead of you and has gone before you, and the future is notunknown to Him. His faithfulness inthe past is His promise of His

faithfulness and guidance andcomfort in the future.

May God bless you greatly in 2014,and may you see Gods grace, power, and vision in this new and unfoldingtime within Church of All Nationshistory.

    In Christ,

    Rev. Dr. Scott Rische

Thank you Letter from ConcordiaChildrens Services

Greetings of Peace from Concordia Childrens Services (CCS).

On behalf of CCS, thank you very much for your recent generous gift of US$4,088.70 for the cribs and beds of ourchildren. Your commitment to helping more than 20 abandoned, surrendered, neglected children through theprovision of a more comfortable and safer bed is truly appreciated by these beautiful children as well as the board andstaff of CCS.

Our sincerest gratitude to loyal partners and supporters like you at CAN Hongkong. Your gift has truly provided thesafety and comfort that these children need. It also complements the beautiful mural painting that some of yourmembers have done when they visited last October.

We hope and pray that you at CAN will continue to assist CCS in whatever way you can in the years to come.

If you have any inquiry, please don't hesitate to call at 713-34-61/62, or email me at [email protected] [email protected] . Meanwhile, attached are the photos of the new beds and cribs. We will keep you updated on the children through our regular e-newsletter.

Again, thank you for all you do for CCS. God bless you more.

    Executive Director

In the wake of the typhoon Haiyan a.k.a.Yolanda inPhilippines, the members through the help of theircoordinator of Fellowship Prayer Share Care Group(FPSC) was able to send more than twenty thousand

Philippine pesos show their care to theircountrymen. It is through prayers that the FPSC canhelp support. When the people of Israel were called inDeuteronomy 6:5, and was later heard being saidagain in the New Testament Matthew 22:36-40, andMark 12:30, ''Love the Lord your God with all yourheart, with all your soul, with all your mind, with all your strength;" these words maybe simple but are very true and makes also the members of FPSC toreect upon its challenging meaning even to Filipinos. There's seems to be nothing members can do with theoverwhelming impact of that past typhoon. Membersof the group carry a heavy heart for all the victims ofthe aftermath that's crippling everyone. Yet, with a joyful message of salvation and the prevailing truth of peace, hope, and love that comes only from the Lord, shalleveryone say, "thanks be to God" for His incarnation that gives healing, resilience, and sustenance to all mankind.

Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who lives and reign forever and ever. May the HeavenlyFather give you peace today, tomorrow, and the rest of the year 2014.

It was in May 2010 when Nueva Vizcaya Circuit Lutheran Youth Organization (NVCLYO) made it's rst contact with the FPSCG through Ms. Beth Balang. We receive an information that FPSCG will give a package to Nueva

Vizcaya Circuit and it was given to Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church, Gunot, Kimbutan, Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya. The members there can't express how thankful they are that FPSCG choose their congregation be the one toreceive the package. Every member got their share of shirt and pants. A simple gift according to FPSCG but forthem it is an act that they will never forget and a gift that they can't repay with material thing but only throughprayers to the Filipino Workers there in Hong Kong.

In the same year, December 2010 Nueva Vizcaya Circuit Receive another cash amounting to 5,500 pesos (HK 125).It was intended to cover the expenses of the News Letter of Bambang Lutheran Mission Station (BLMS), GIFTA, Almaguer North, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya (This news letter covers not only BLMS activities but all congregationand auxiliary organization of Nueva Vizcaya Circuit) but since the amount was more than enough to purchase 1printer we decided to buy our own printer and use it for printing the news letter. I'm proud to inform you that weused it for more than 3 years.

Recently another cash amounting to 2,750.00 was handed to me which was utilized during the 5th Assembly ofNueva Vizcaya Circuit Lutheran Youth Organization held at Belance National High School, Mt. Calvary LutheranChurch, Belance, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya last December 25-28, 2013.

Indeed, we're so overwhelmed that for this past years you become a channel of blessings to us. We don't know howto say how thankful we are that you're always there for us ready to support our organization. we're so indebtednessto you brethren in CHRIST for with out you who allowed themselves to be used by our Heavenly Father we don'tknow if happiness was brought to the Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church Family, if we bought a 1 set of printer, and if wehad a successful 5th Assembly.

A special thanks also to CHURCH OF ALL NATION, HONG KONG for playing a vital role to the lives of every lipinothere in HK.

Above all we thank GOD for HIS unending and unselsh love that HE has given to all of us.
