I can use some help as far as newsletter content. If any of you have building tip or tricks to share, pictures of a new or rebuilt/recovered airplane you would like to share. Airplane pictures or airplane related cartoons. Anything you think your fellow modelers would enjoy Please forward them to me at [email protected] 2. EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE ON THE CAMS FIELD ENTRY ROAD until the snow is gone. Last year several people tried to get to the field and tore up the gravel road. It cost the club over $1000.00 to repair. DO NOT do the same this year. I know it is hard to wait –but don’t be the one to ruin it for everybody else. 3. All CAMS members please remember to keep your AMA membership current. As a current AMA member the $500,000.00 Liability insurance is in effect. If you are not and you are involved in a hobby related accident, the liability falls totally on you not the club. 4. All CAMS flying members MUST be registered with the FAA and ALL their aircraft must have their FAA registration number on them in plain sight without the use of tools. 5. Think about prepping an airplane for night flying. Airplanes should be in the 40” - 60” wingspan size and electric powered. (no glow or gas). It will need to have LED lights on it (so you can see it) and some lights need to be pointed down so you can see the runway to land. Night flying is a lot of fun and can be a family event. 6. Watch for special E-mails that give the day and time for indoor flying at the CDA Bible Church Gym 5350 N. 4 TH STREET IN COEUR D’ ALENE. Bring a small electric Airplane/Helicopter/of Quad and have some fun. The gym is heated and carpeted.

LETTER FROM THE PREZ MARCH 2017 Hi everyone, Happy Spring This will be a short Prez letter. Well it looks like the field is drying out, and we can fly once again I will get the fire extinguishers back out to the field. My wife and I took our yearly trip to Las Vegas to see my brother and her sister. I had taken two planes to fly at Bennett Field. We had a few great days of flying with no wind. We also fly control line planes in Vegas but due to the strong winds on the weekend we couldn't fly. Our future monthly meetings will be held at the air field, weather permitting, other wise Kootenai Coffee when bad. We will let you know one way or the other by e-mail. Remember these important Dates The Spring cleanup is scheduled for May 13th at 9:00 a.m., so please put a couple of hours aside to help ready the field for flying. Our swap meet will be held on Sunday, June 11th. Setup is at 7:30 a.m., gates open at 8:00 a.m. Ta-bles will cost $5.00 each, admission is $5.00 per person. Until next month. Keep the shinny side up. Larry

This 1600mm wingspan glider takes 15 minutes to assemble. The wings and tail are made from tough EPO foam. However, the fuselage is made from a really strong blow molded nylon skin with plywood formers, making it almost indestructible. Both the main wing and tail are screwed into place and the two wing halves have a carbon fiber rod for added strength. The main wing includes 1 servo per aileron plus there is a pre-molded slot so you can add your own flaps later. All 4 9g servos, speed controller and brushless outrunner are included. Just add your own receiver and battery to be flight ready! LARGE SCALE AIRCRAFT C of G BALANCING STAND

This simple and inexpensive balancer information has been donated by Sandy Sanders from the Clearlake Modelers Club of California. Thank you Sandy.

The balancer is made from PVC pipe, easy and cheap to make, and works really well! There are a lot of different types of balancers out there, but this one when made from ¾” PVC pipe is strong enough to balance heavy airplanes.
