PROMOTION | online and on campus

SOCIAL MEDIA.

Social media can be one of the best ways to communicate with the students on your campus. Promoting 31 Bits through various media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and blogs can not only reach a large audience, but also can be really fun to update! Don’t be afraid to use pictures, videos, or special promotions from our 31 Bits site each week to spice up your media pages!

We highly recommend creating a specific Facebook Fan Page for your School--it makes for one central site for your classmates to see upcoming events on campus and find out more information about 31 Bits. Post frequently to create buzz & Excitement.

Get Creative! Here’s some content ideas for your 31 Bits Campus Facebook Page: - Whenever you see 31 Bits on campus, take a picture & post a small write up on your facebook page “spotted on campus”! Encourage people to be the next one to be “spotted”. - Pick out one of your favorite items from 31 Bits and post a weekly “My Pick” on your page. - Always post updates about the company, whether a cool story involving our designers in Uganda, a new necklace, or own story from on campus! - Always make sure to check the 31 Bits blog for up-to-date information and new stories to share.

ON CAMPUS.

There are lots of ways to promote on your campus – be loud & proud! - Get featured on your campus radio station - Sport your Bits – the best way to get the jewelry noticed is wearing it! - Throwing an event? Ask to have it put on your School’s Calendar of Events - Flier the campus and surrounding coffee shops & hangout spots.. you can always request more fliers too :)

Partnerships | campus clubs, forming a committee, and inside the classroom

Planning events can get overwhelming if you’re doing it by your lonesome. We want to encourage you to grow your support on campus. Reach out to friends and try to recruit others to be apart of your 31 Bits Movement. It’s much easier to plan events when you have a support committee helping you!

We love the idea of training your replacement – once you have finished being a Campus Representative; we hope there is someone on your campus that you can ‘pass the baton’ too :)

Plan events & team up with those around you who share the same interests: - Fashion Groups - Eco – Friendly groups - Africa/Uganda groups - Toms/Invisible Children clubs - Business/Marketing Clubs - Women Groups - Partner with Residence life & create a Sales Wall & track your progress

Partner with Faculty members - Ask to share about 31 Bits in their classrooms! (marketing classes, fashion classes, anthropology classes, third world development classes, etc) - Try to get a faculty member to support you & your efforts. Sometimes Faculty members have lots of connections for you and can offer another level of support on Campus.

Events! Events! Events!

We at 31 Bits love to throw events! We love making new friends & we love sharing our story with new people face to face.

Towards the end of your semester you’ll be responsible to plan and execute one major event, but we’d like you to throw as many events & seek out as many opportunities to sell as you are able to! Create a buzz on campus by showcasing how 31 Bits does development work & business differently: our development work is funded solely through product sales.

Here’s some fun event/selling opportunity ideas on & off campus: - Host a Fashion Show - Battle of the Bands - Partner with a Boutique that sells 31 Bits in your area - Create a Uganda/Africa Awareness Night - Partner with Sorority & Fraternities on Campus - Coordinate an event with the launch of our new line—throw a launch party on your campus, let us know if you want to do this & we can send some of our new product to you! - Team up with bloggers on your campus & have them post your Campus Rep Code - Throw events around upcoming holidays – Mother’s Day, Graduation, International Women’s Day, etc

At the start of your semester, you’ll receive a box of 50 bracelets, which you will sell through out your time as a Campus Rep. But if you are planning a large event, you may need more product… just let us know & we can ship some more to you :)
