Training Center Graduation!
This month, we celebrated another graduation ceremony
with ten students graduating from the Addiction Recov-
ery program and two students graduating from our Serv-
ant Leadership Training program! Solomon, one of our
Servant Leadership Training graduates, is featured in
this newsletter. He received his Advanced Certification in
Theology & Biblical Counseling and was awarded 30
credit hours of college credit at Crossroads Bible Col-
lege for his work here at the Training Center. We are ex-
cited for him and for the rest of our graduates!

Homecoming… By: Josh Krumenacher, Training Center Program Manager
Acts 2:42, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the
fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” This verse has been at
the forefront of our alumni banner and the beating heart of our annual alum-
ni homecoming event since its formation. The verse breaks down the pur-
pose and the meaning of our gathering in a beautiful manner. Men who
have been delivered from darkness to light and who have been transformed
by the saving grace of Jesus Christ return to Camp Hunt to remember, to
celebrate, and to honor the Lord for what He accomplished in them. We live
out just what is stated in Acts 2:42 by devoting ourselves to the Word, by
spending the day together reminiscing over what God has done in our lives,
by sharing meals together, by partaking in communion together, and by
praying for one another.
Seeing everyone also brings back memories of those alumni who could not
make it back to this year’s homecoming. We miss seeing other alumni who
have gone before us, but we enjoy remembering many stories that relate to
those who traveled the journey with us here at Wheeler Mission. Homecom-
ing brings back a sense of comradery with those whom we have not seen in
a long time, since we all shared a common experience, at a common place.
This is just one of the many reasons why homecoming celebrations are so
special.
The students that are here in our programs become close. Proverbs 18:24
says there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. That is a profound
statement that we are able to see come to fruition every day and get to see
walked out at our homecoming event year after year.

Hebrews 10:24-25. “Yes to Jesus, no to Church”
is a recipe for disaster.
We had a great September graduation! Thanks
so much to all of our friends and family who were
present. Many of our graduates will continue to
grow in a new church and community. This month
at our homecoming it was so great to see newly
married graduates, newly born children, and thriv-
ing community. Although we always stress the
need to participate in a community of believers,
some of our graduates will go on to experience
life lived outside the church, and they will fail.
Sometimes, it is a quick failure that they can learn
from; other times, it is death. All of us need to be
reminded not to take our fellowship for granted
and to encourage one another toward love and
good works...
“He cannot have God for a Father who does not
have the Church for his mother” - the church is
the bride! A family without the mother is dysfunc-
tional! - Augustine
“Apart from the church, salvation is impossible.” -
Martin Luther
“...because it is now our intention to discuss the
visible church, let us learn even from the simple
title “mother” how useful, indeed necessary, it is
that we should know her. For there is no other
way to enter into life unless the mother conceive
us in the womb, give us birth, nourish us, and
keep us under her care as we grow.” - Calvin

Our Servant Leadership
Training (SLT) program
is available to graduates
of our Addictions Recov-
ery program. The SLT
ministry internship goes
beyond basic biblical
principles and counseling
concepts taught in the
Basic Theology and Bibli-
cal Counseling certifica-
tion, and moves students
toward maturity in Christ
and maturity in contrib-
uting within the body of
Christ.
SLT students will be bibli-
cally encouraged to grow
in the powers of discern-
ment, trained by a con-
stant practice to distin-
guish good from evil. SLT
students are also encour-
aged to discover their
spiritual gifts and contrib-
ute them here at the
Training Center!
Our purpose in this train-
ing program is to present
advanced Bible Doctrine
and further Biblical Coun-
seling training for those
who desire to be active
within the ministry of Je-
sus Christ and the
church.
Meet Solomon, Servant Leadership Training Graduate!
Solomon’s Story By: Ryan Bobbett, Servant Leader in Training
Solomon is a perfect example of God’s ability to perform heart transplants on those
who come to Him broken and willing. Solomon came to the Wheeler Mission Train-
ing Center after his release from prison. He admits that he came to Wheeler Mis-
sion with a heart of stone, carrying with him a huge weight of bitterness, anger, and
resentment. Solomon says, “I had enough of doing things my way, I couldn’t do it
on my own. Only God could pick up the broken pieces of my life.”
During the course of Solomon’s addictions and prison sentences, he lost track of
his five children. During his time at the Training Center, his oldest daughter had not
heard from Solomon in ten years. While Solomon was at the Training Center, he
would write each of his children faithfully every week, praying for reconciliation.
During Solomon’s time in Servant Leadership Training, he grew in his desire to
serve the Lord and help others. Solomon served on our worship team helping to
lead our Sunday chapel services. Seeing Solomon lead worship, it was hard to im-
age that he was once a hard-hearted individual. God changed Solomon. God also
brought reconciliation back to him and his family. His children joined him on stage
during his graduation!
Now, Solomon enters a new season of his life, going to Crossroads Bible College
and seeking to help others know the love of Jesus Christ!
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit
within you.” Ezekiel 36:26

The Story Continues… Over the past month, we have had two students complete our Addiction Re-
covery Program, with one of them entering our SLT ministry internship! We
also had one student complete their ministry internship in Servant Leader-
ship Training. We are excited for what God has in store for these men! To
date, this brings the total number of people who have completed our pro-
grams at the Training Center to 282! Thank you for being a part of the work
that God is doing here through your prayers and financial support!
How Can I Help? We are at capacity in our dormitories! We currently have 35 students and
bed space is limited. We are preparing to make plans for a new dorm, but
we need your help!
If God puts it on your heart, would you consider helping us by donating to
and praying for this cause? Please mark your donations by writing “Training
Center Dorm” in the memo line of your check. We would also welcome any
help with finding potential donors, developing fundraising ideas, and ex-
panding our network. Thank you!
