Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA)
L to Ka Bands, 100 W ~ 1W
SSPAs are widely used onboard of many satellites : telecommunications, payload, observation & sciences missions and navigation payloads. Thales Alenia Space has built since more than 25 years a strong heritage for high power amplification applied to a wide range of signal types: CW, multi-carrier, radar chirps, digital modulations for telecommunication signals (mobiles), telemetry, data (images, measurement data, data relays) and navigation (WAAS-SBAS, Galileo). The mains characteristics of our products are : ♦ Strong in-orbit heritage (> 500 SSPA in orbit, > 10 millions unit hours), ♦ Excellent reliability (high life-time, resistance to overdrive, corona, and
multipactor), ♦ Low mass and compact design (for easy accommodation with integrated high-efficiency EPC), ♦ High linearity associated to state-of-the-art efficiency, ♦ Optimisation & Control Functions (Gain Command, ALC, Power Flexibility). ♦ Adaptable to many host spacecraft (bus voltage, TM/TC format)
