Adult Expectations
Purpose: To maintain the safety of children and adults
Guidelines: Avoid situations where you are alone with a student.
(except in an emergency) Always use careful judgement. Students must never be subject to any forms of abuse. Adults act as important role models. Standards of behaviour must never be lowered. A student’s class teacher should be contacted first if
problems arise. No alcohol and/or cigarettes are to be consumed.
WHAT DO THE ADULT HELPERS DO?
•Provide pastoral care and help to one of the groups.
•Support the teachers.
•Help run the camp activities.
•Assist with evening activities.
•Help with group duties.
•Assist with the cleaning of the dishes and pots during and after meal time.
•Be available during free time to supervise activities.
•Ensure the children are safe at all times.
•Get involved and have fun.
Carey Park Camp Rules No girls in boy cabins. No boys in girl cabins. Stay within the boundaries. Stay in cabin until rise and shine. Sleep is very important. After lights out respect the rights of
others who expect to sleep. Keep out of the kitchen unless helping – wear shoes. Shoes and hats off before entering the dining hall. Make sure you help your group at duty time. Respect the property of others and keep your gear tidy. Respect the environment and all camp property. Greet and thank all adults every day. Three whistles = return to base as quickly as possible. Look after your group members. Give everything a go. Wash hands after going to the toilet and before eating.
Commonsense and courtesy at all times is the best motto
