    Seeking a Few Good Chess Players

    The Marine Corps is seeking six players and one alternate for the All-Marine ChessTeam. Members of the team must be able to participate in the Interservice Chess

    Tournament 13-17 Jun, at MCAS Miramar, Calif., and the NATO Championships 8-12Aug, in Lithuania. Applications are available at http://www.usmc-mccs.org/chess orat the local Single Marine Program office, Bldg. 564 on M St.

    Requirements:1. Must be an Active Duty Service Member who will be still in the Marine Corps attime of second tournament.2. Must be a U.S. Chess Federation Member (visit www.uschess.org for more info).3. Must have a U.S.C.F. rating and have participated in one U.S.C.F. tournamentwithin the last two years (tournaments will be hosted by the Single Marine Programso everyone has the chance to achieve a rating).4. Must be able to participate in the Inter-Service and the NATO Chess Tournaments

    (will need command endorsement)

    Deadlines:24 Mar - Submit application to the SMP office, Bldg. 564. SMP will coordinatenecessary approvals and forward to Headquarters.

Trees will be accepted from now until 22 Jan 2011. Trees must be clean ofany artificial decorations. The trees will be used to reduce beach erosion and build

    up the sand dunes.

    The Naval Hospital will once again administer FREE Influenza vaccinations at theCamp Lejeune Marine Corps Main Exchange 10-12 Jan from 1000-1800 daily. Thevaccines will be given in the space next to the Barber Shop, formerly Enterprise CarRental.

    Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Itcan cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Some people, suchas older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are athigh risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by gettingvaccinated each year!

    The Influenza vaccination is available to all military and retiree family members,retirees, and DOD civilian employees. All personnel must present a valid ID or CACcard to receive a vaccination.
