SUPER SUMMERDAY CAMP
CAMP CHUTES & LADDERS GAME INSTRUCTIONSMake it a family game night and share your camp stories with other players; friends, siblings, classmates, parents and grandparents. The basis of the game is to figure out what new and fun summer camp adventures you would like to explore. The first circle you land on will guide you to your new 2016 summer camp adventure. Play as many times and as often as you’d like.
• You will need between 2 and 6 players, ages 3 and up.
• Cut out the six game pieces (e.g., doggie, ladybug, basketball etc.). Each player should choose one of the six game pieces. Collect all 11 game pieces by visiting the YMCA or visit the camp web page.
• Roll one die to move forward on the game board.
• When you land on a camp with a flag, please share your answer with other players.
• Use a ladder to move quickly and find out what you want to do at camp. You can climb up and down the ladder if you change your mind about a camp and want to travel on a new path.
• The game ends when all players have arrived at one of the three destinations.

CAMP PEANUT SHELL provides an introduction to the camp experience on an intimate scale for our youngest campers. Our staff create a positive learning environment, encouraging every camper to make new friends, become more independent and gain a new understanding of the world around them. At Camp Peanut Shell, we have many traditions over the summer including our morning camp circle, our theme days and camp group challenges. This gives our youngest children a first insight into a Y camp that will stay with them through their entire childhood.
ACTIVITIES AND TRIPSEach camp session is built around a fun theme that engages the campers in learning indoors and out. Campers follow a daily schedule which includes opportunities to be active, learn new skills and reinforce lessons learned in preschool in a fun, hands-on way.
Activities: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) projects, gardening in our vegetable garden, arts and crafts, cooking, sports clinics, music and movement. Campers receive instructional swim lessons twice a week at the West Essex YMCA.
Trips: Field trips allow campers to explore the world beyond camp under the careful supervision of the Peanut Shell staff. Parents are welcome to be a part of the camp experience by chaperoning field trips and attending special events.
Previous trips have included the Essex County Environmental Center, World of Wings, and the Newark Museum Planetarium.
Please note - campers must be toilet trained to go on field trips.
