2
You are invited to attend the 3rd Annual Fall Harvest camp event beginning the first official weekend of autumn, Friday, Sep- tember 21 through Sunday, September 23. Pastor Steve Forsythe, from the First Free Methodist Church in East Liverpool, Ohio is speaking on a 3-part sermon series based on “The New Normal” at 7:00 p.m. during the public services Fri- day, as well as on Saturday, September 22. He will be wrapping up the series at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, September 23 at the First Free Methodist Church located just a few miles up the road at 16260 St. Clair Avenue. Our camp praise team is also going to be leading those in attendance in singing their favorite songs of worship. After Friday night’s service, there will be a pizza party, with donations accepted, in the dining hall. Saturday at 10:30 a.m., there will be a 90-minute educational DVD class for all ages in the tabernacle on the History Channel’s documentary “The Real Face of Jesus?” In the afternoon, there is going to be a cookout and cover dish picnic at 2:00 p.m. on the camp’s front patio. This year’s event features our 2nd Annual Crock-Pot Cook-off with first, second and third place prizes being awarded to those entries receiving the most votes by ballot. A pumpkin carving activity and other special games are being planned for the children immediately following the picnic. Parents or guardians who permit their children to participate should bring the appropriate number of pump- kins and carving tools. They should also be available for supervision, if necessary. Keepsake photos complete with a photo folder will also be taken during the picnic for $5. In addition, there will be a cornhole contest, as well, for the adults. Volleyball and basketball games are also being offered. Since the fall season seems to equal sports, “The Mighty Macs” - a faith-based film re- leased late last fall on DVD is based on the incredible true story of the 1971-72 Immaculata College team that started in obscurity, but became the original Cinderella story in women’s basketball - is also being shown in the tabernacle at 3:30 p.m. Weather permitting, there will also be a hayride following the Saturday evening service, as well as a bonfire. People are encouraged to bring additional seating or blankets. Cider, coffee and donuts will also be provided Sunday morning at camp before morning worship at First Church. The dining hall dormitory will be open for those who do not have cottages or other means of housing and who wish to stay on the grounds.
