First ServeThe Cameron Aggie volleyball team was swept in their Lone Star Conference opening weekend at Angelo State (21-25, 17-25, 16-25) and Tarleton State (23-25, 13-25, 16-25).

The last time CU was swept in back to back games was the final two LSC regular season in 2011 against Angelo State (11/3) and Abilene Christian (11/5).

Home Sweet HomeAfter opening the season with 10 matches on the road the Aggies will play in front of their fans at home for the first time this season.

Due up first for Cameron is Dal-las Baptist out of the heartland Confernece. Last season, CU played DBU at their home arena on 10/29 falling in a close match, 1-3 (24-26, 18-25, 19-25, 23-25).

This will be the first time DBU has made a visit to the Aggie Gym in since 2004. Despite their close proximeity to each other and sharing the season NCAA region this is only Cameron’s 10th match against Dallas Baptist.

Cameron will look to continue their winning ways at home with a four match win streak dating back to 10/20/11 against Texas A&M Kingsville.

Overall, the Aggies last season had a winning record at home at 6-4.

This will also be the first non-conference match since 10/5/10 when CU hosted Oklahoma City University.

Double-Double Against Tarleton State Jenna Risoli and Shannon Dulaney both had double-double match-es. This was Risoli’s 13th career double-double and second this season. In her freshman season, Dulaney had her fourth career double-double.

Passing 2000Junior, Jenna Risoli has passed the 2000 career assist mark after the CSU-Pueblo Tournament. For the season she has 344 assists.

Where they rank: LSCA number of Aggies are presently sitting on top of the LSC charts for performances this season. Shannon Dulaney is leading all players in the number of kills in a match with 26 after her perfor-mance vs. Newman on 9/1; Rebecca Green is third (24 at CSU-Pueblo on 9/8).

Dulaney is also leading the LSC in points scored in a match at 28.5 vs. Newman. She is two points ahead of Rachel Robertson from Texas A&M Commerce who had 26.5 against Southeastern Oklahoma in five sets, Dulaney’s performance was in four sets. An-gelique Vidaurri from Incarnate Word is the next highest four set scoring total with 23.5.

Jenna Risoli after a 50 assist match against Newman is leading the LSC in assists made in a four set match and is third overall with a 55 assist performance vs. CSU-Pueblo.

The 2011 season was head coach Douglas Tabbert’s first season at Cameron University. Tabbert took a team picked 11th in the confer-ence preseason polls to a their

first Lone Star Conference Tournament birth in three years as the sixth seed. Tabbert led CU to a 15-15 overall record and 9-11 Lone Star mark. This was a stark improvement over the team’s 9-18 overall record and 4-10 league mark the year before his ar-rival.

Tabbert comes to Cameron after spending the past four years at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he held the position of Assistant Head Coach under 12th-year Head Coach Rick Squiers. During his four years at UNK, the Lopers had an overall record of 129-17 and a conference record of 71-4 including four regular season conference championships, two conference tournament champion-ships, four NCAA tournament appearances, and final national rankings of No. 19, No. 6, No. 12 and No. 5. The Perry, Kansas native also coached 17 all-con-ference and 12 all-academic conference players, 10 all-region players, and seven all-Americans. Tabbert is also no stranger to the head coach position. Prior to heading to Kearney, Tabbert led the volleyball pro-gram at NAIA South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, S.D., for four seasons. In 2001 and 2002, he was head coach at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb., with his first head coaching job coming at NCAA Divi-sion III Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C. Tabbert also has been a graduate assistant volleyball and soft-ball coach at NCAA Division III Bluffton College (Ohio). He holds a B.S. degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Baker University (Kans.) and a Master’s degree in Development Kinesiology from Bowling Green State U. (Ohio).

Youth MovementIn their first Ten matches the Ag-gies have used only two starters from last season (Rebecca Green and Jenna Risoli). The rest of the lineup consists of either fresh-man or new transfers.

McGee named Graduate AssistantFormer University of Miami(FL) volleyball standout Lici McGee joins the aggies for the 2012 sea-son. McGee was a member of hur-ricane teams that made the 2009 and 2010 NCAA Division I Tourna-ment.

Last MeetingThis year will be the final time that Cameron will meet Incarnate Word and Abilene Chrisitan as a member of the Lone Star Confer-ence. Both schools will be mov-ing to Division I starting in the 2013-14 and will be a member of the Southland Conference. Abilene

Christian will end their NCAA Division II regular season history at Cameron on Nov. 7 in the Aggie gym

Seeking the PostseasonAfter qualifying for the Lone Star Conference Tournament in the 2011 season, Cameron is seeking another appearance. The last time Cameron reached the LSC Tour-nament was in 2006-07. From 1997 through 2004 the aggies were a fixture at the tournament appear-ing eight years in a row.
