Fire hazards:
Below are some tips from the FDNY’s tips on fire safety found on their website: ▪ o Replace or repair damaged or loose electrical cords. o Avoid running extension cords across doorways or under carpets. o In homes with small children, make sure your home has tamper-resistant (TR) receptacles. o Consider having additional circuits or outlets added by a qualified electrician so you do not
have to use extension cords. o Follow the manufacturer's instructions for plugging an appliance into a receptacle outlet.
Plug only one high-wattage appliance into each receptacle outlet at a time. o Avoid overloading outlets or power strips. If outlets or switches feel warm, frequent
problems with blowing fuses or tripping circuits, or flickering or dimming lights, call a qualified electrician.
o Place lamps on level surfaces, away from things that can burn and use bulbs that match the lamp's recommended wattage.
o Make sure your home has ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) in the kitchen bathroom(s), laundry, basement, and outdoor areas.
o Air conditioners, heaters or any other appliances should NOT be plugged into an extension cord. Always plug these items directly into the wall.

Drain Maintenance To keep your drains running freely do not dump food or grease down the drain, those items belong in the trash. To clean your drains sprinkle about 1⁄2 cup of baking soda down the drain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then pour 1 cup of white vinegar down the drain and cover the drain to keep the reaction below the drain surface. Let it sit for 5‐10 minutes and then flush with a pot of boiling water. Do this regularly to keep your drains running freely without the chemicals from drain cleaners.
