We have spoken about ‘push ups’ rather than ‘put downs’. Congratulations to our Preschool – rated as Exceeding We have recently been assessed and rated against the National Quality Standard in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and Education and Care Services National Regulations (National Regulations). As a result of this assessment Camdenville Public School Preschool has received an overall rating against the National Quality Standard of Exceeding National Quality Standard (E). This rating takes into account the information that was available to the assessor during the two days of observation, interviews with staff and documentation reviewed by a team of assessors. The preschool team have worked hard at making a significant shift in practice and programming as well as redesigning the environment over the past 3 years to make the learning responsive and engaging for the children in their care. Book Week 2019 We have number of activities planned to celebrate the secret power of reading this year. These activities include a giant story circle, class door displays based on the Child Book Council’s finalists, Get Caught Reading, a writing competition, book reviews and plenty more. We would love to see you involved as well- on Wednesday at 9 am family members are invited to come in to classes and read to small groups of children- bring a favourite story, a passage, short chapter, or even a poem along to share with children in your child’s class. We will also have some quality texts available for you to read. Film Festival 2019 Dates have been organized for this year’s Camdenville Film Festival – Friday 25 October 2019. Put it in your diaries for a great night out. Each year the Film Festival is open to families and students K to 6 putting in a 3- 4 minute film on anything they would like. Films in the past have ranged from dinosaurs chasing a family through the bush, a lego airport documentary, stick men animation, special effects and car chases, zombie horror and film noir. The Film Festival is planned so that families can work on their film during the holiday break and hand in their entry for ‘judging’ when school returns.

The Film Committee are looking for help this year with decorating the hall, selling the snacks and generally giving a hand. Film or tech skills are not essential but if there are a few out there interested in supporting the actual process of downloading and getting films ready to show, perhaps your in the industry or just enthusiastic with a camera or computer, come along to a brief meeting here at school on Friday 23 August 2019 at 3 pm. The recycling program is designed to help our school and community clean up and recycle unwanted electronics either at home or at school. A bin will be delivered to school and left for two weeks. Keep an eye out for the bin, it will be coming soon. We encourage our families to be involved in recycling unwanted electronics. Accepted items include:

Printers, Laptops, PC Monitors, Servers,

Computer power suppiles, Network devices,

New Term 3 Tuesday Lunchtime Yoga & Relaxation Classes

Classes starting 27 August 2019. Ages K-6, all welcome!

Our classes get kids moving, building their fitness, flexibility and co-ordination. We also introduce them to important breathing exercises to

encourage calmness and self regulation, building their ability to deal with stress and anxiety.

This is a great way to calm and focus the kids ahead of afternoon learning!

SCHOOLSTREAM ACCOUNT REQUEST

Camdenville PS has moved to a new, mobile communication school app called

SCHOOLSTREAM (this replaces Skoolbag).

Many parents have already downloaded the app and have found it to be a

convenient and effective form of school communication. From the 12 August

2019, parents will be required to set up an account to access

SCHOOLSTREAM.

Once you have created an account you will be able to:

customise the categories you see and receive information from the app

save and delete content, once it has been actioned

receive private messages and custom content from the school

To log in or create an account, follow the steps below:

1. If this is your first time using the app, you will have a screen to search for your School Profile. Search your School Name and add your School from the dropdown options. (If you have already added your School, skip this step).

2. Tap the menu icon at the top left of the App. 3. From the menu, select the top option 'Log in or create account'. 4. You will need to accept our Privacy Policy to create an account. If you

accept the Privacy Policy, tap 'I Agree'. 5. Choose to login via Email, Phone or Facebook. 6. Enter the required details and select 'Get Code' (Facebook login skips

this step). 7. We will send you a code via either Phone or Email, depending on your

login option. Enter this code into the App. (Facebook login skips this step).

8. That's it! You're logged in, simply tap 'Continue' to start using the App
