Balancing Your Camera/Lens On the Gimbal HeadThe gimbal design makes it possible to rotate your lensaround its center of gravity with utmost precision andsafety. Follow this simple procedure to ensure that yourgimbal head will provide fluid-smooth, virtuallyweightless, pan and tilt movements.

Start by loosening the Lens Platform Height AdjustmentLock Knob by turning counterclockwise. Adjust up ordown until center of lens is centered to the adjustmentknob (figure A). Once positioned, tighten knob by turningclockwise.

Now you need to balance the camera/lens from front-to-back. While supporting the lens, slowly loosen the QR Lens Mounting Plate Lock Knob by turningcounterclockwise. Carefully slide the camera/lensforward or backward until balanced (figure A). Thentighten the QR Lens Mounting Plate Lock Knob byturning clockwise.

Mounting Gimbal Head to TripodStart by locking the Pan/Drag Adjustment Knob by turningclockwise. This will lock the head to the Pan Spool. Mountthe head on a tripod by attaching the Pan Spool base to the3/8" male thread of the tripod. Tighten it until it is firmlysecure to the tripod. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! To prevent thegimbal head from accidently unscrewing during use, tightenhex screws on the underside of the tripod platform. NOTE:Not all tripods have this security feature.
