More than twenty years ago, CALSTART was formed as a non-profit organization to build a fuel and technology neutral national alternative fuel and advanced vehicle technology marketplace.

To achieve that goal, CALSTART works in collaboration with leading national manufacturers, suppliers, fleets, government agencies and research institutions to grow a clean transportation technologies industry which will clean the air, create jobs, decrease our dependence on oil, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
