CBBC is looking for children to get involved in…

Calling  all  Horrible  Historians!  Calling  all  Horrible  Historians!  Are  you  a  fan  of  Horrible  Histories?  

Do  you  know  the  beastliest  bits  of  history?    

It’s  the  messiest,  silliest,  brainiest,  goriest  gameshow  CBBC  has  ever  seen.  Win  and  you  could  go  away  with  one  of  our  star  prizes  -­‐  a  Georgian  Navy  maggoty  biscuit,  an  Egyptian  mummy’s  hand,  or  a  Saxon  plate  made  from  horse  poop.  

(Okay  –  so  perhaps  it  wasn’t  such  a  good  idea  to  let  Rattus  Rattus  choose  the  prizes)!  If  you  are  aged  between  8  and  12,  then  Gory  Games  could  be  for  you.

the  programme.  • The   completed   application   form   MUST   include   the   signed   consent   slip   and   a  

recent  photograph  of  you  (which,  unfortunately,  we  cannot  return).

PARENTAL  CONSENT  FORM    To  the  Parent  or  Guardian:    Your  child  would  like  to  apply  to  take  part  in  a  CBBC  game  show  called  ‘GORY  GAMES’.    The   show   involves   3   contestants   battling   it   out   in   history   related   challenges   and   quirky  quizzes  in  order  to  win  a  variety  of  grizzly  prizes.      For  the  application  to  be  considered,  your  child  needs  to  provide  a  completed  questionnaire,  a  signed  parental  consent  form  and  a  photograph  of  themselves  (which  we  are  afraid  cannot  be  returned).    These  should  all  be  sent  directly  to  us  at  Citrus  Television.    If  children  have  been  selected,  their  inclusion  may  be  dependent  on  us  being  able  to  obtain  appropriate  consents  (e.g.  local  education  authority).    For  the  application  to  be  considered,  your  child  must  be  aged  between  8  and  12  on  August  14th  2017.    The  closing  date  for  applications  is  21st  July  2017,  so  make  sure  you  get  your  application  to  us  by  then.  The  earlier  the  better!    The   applicants   we   wish   to   consider   further   for   the   programme   will   be   contacted   by   11th  August  2017.  Please  note,  due  to  the  high  number  of  applications  received,  we  are  unable  to  respond  to  everyone  individually.    Should   the   application   be   successful,   the   information   provided   may   be   used   by   the  programme,   but   will   not   be   used   for   any   other   purpose   without   your   permission.     Your  details  will  only  be  kept  if  needed  for  the  duration  of  the  programme  and  all  applications  will  be  destroyed  once  they  have  been  processed.      If  successful,  we  will  call  to  speak  to  you,  then  will  hold  a  telephone  interview  with  your  child  for  selection  through  to  the  next  stage.    Citrus  Television  complies  with  all  provisions  of  the  Data  Protection  Act  1998  and  all  information  supplied  in  your  child’s  application  will  only  be  used  in  connection  with  your  child’s  participation  in  the  programme.  Citrus  Television  has  a  Child  Protection  Policy  and  all  staff  act  in  compliance  with  it  (Citrus  Television's  Child  Protection  Policy  may  be  viewed  on  request).
