CALL FOR Videos: “Camera Obscura numerus minor“ Video competition of Youth European Nationalities (YEN) donated by Renate Schnack, Minority Commissioner of the Prime Minister of SchleswigHolstein The Youth European Nationalities (YEN) is looking for the creative producers who want to participate in the video project „Camera obscura numerus minor“. The project is made possible by the Minority Commissioner of the Federal State of SchleswigHolstein, Renate Schnack, as she donated the prize money of a prize for outstanding achievements in the area of culture and of living together harmoniously in the DanishGerman border region awarded by Grænseforeningen. Renate Schnack donated the prize to a youth project to be realized in the House of Minorities in Flensburg run by FUEN. YEN realizes the project. About  the  competition:    

The   aim   of   the   project   is   the   networking   of   youngsters   of   different   minorities   and  encouraging   the   exchange   of   opinions   and   ideas   among   them.   In   this   way,   the   positive  representation   of   the   autochthonous   ethnic   minorities   in   general   and   /   or   of   the   YEN  campaign   #DiversityConnects   will   be   promoted.   The   motto   of   YEN   for   the   year   2017   is  "Building  Bridges  Together"  and  this  should  be  reflected  in  the  videos.    The   video   can   be   produced   and   submitted   by   member   organizations,   a   group   of   young  minority  members   or   by   individuals.   You   can   animate   something   or   use   for   example   your  mobile  phone  or  a  camera.  If  you  want  you  can  work  on  the  video  recordings  with  software.  All  persons  appearing  in  the  video  must  agree  with   it.  By  submitting  your  video,  you  agree  that  it  may  be  published  on  yeni.org,  as  well  as  on  our  Facebook  page  or  YouTube  channel,  by   stating  your  name.  The  videos  are,  of   course,   your   intellectual  property,  but  you  agree  that   they   are   distributed   by   YEN.   By   submitting   your   input,   you   agree   to   the   terms   and  conditions.    Participant  profile:  Young  people  (alone  or  as  a  group,  which  must  select  a  representative  as  a  contact  person  for  the  whole  group)  between  the  age  of  16  and  30  may  participate  in  the  competition.    Technical  requirements:  The  video:  

• shows  how  minorities  build  bridges  between  minority  and  majority  populations;  • is  creative;  • describes  how  to  act  in  order  to  strengthen  the  self-­‐esteem  of  minorities  and  how  to  

create  a  peaceful  co-­‐existence  through  the  diversity  of  cultures;  • may  not  contain  pictures  or  photos  from  the  Internet;  • is   in   the   following   formats   of   the   videos:  MOV,  MPEG4,   AVI,  WMV,  MPEGPS,   FLV,  

3GPP,  WebM;  • Submission  in  any  language  possible,  but  with  the  translation  of  the  contribution  into  

one  of  the  following  languages:  English  or  German;  • may  not  be  longer  than  3  minutes  and  a  maximum  size  of  1  GB.  • we  encourage  you   to  use  your  minority   language  –   in   this   case,  please  add  English

 About  the  project:  If   you   video   corresponds   to   the   criteria   please   title   it   and   upload   it   to  https://wetransfer.com/,   with   the   corresponding   address   [email protected].   After   the  uploading   of   the   videos   the   jury  will   select   and   assess   them.   Afterwards  we  will   post   the  videos   on   the   Facebook   page,   where   they   can   be   liked   by   the   Facebook   users.   By   the  evaluation  of   the   jury   (50%)   and   the   Facebook   likes   (50%)   the  winners  will   be   defined.   In  March  2017  the  winners  will  receive  the  prizes  in  the  House  of  Minorities.    Moreover,   the   winner   films   will   be   shown   on   the   6th   of   May   2017   at   the   2017   General  Assembly  of  Grænseforeningen.    What  is  to  win:  The   first   three   places   will   be   awarded   with   prize   money   of   300,   200   and   100   Euro.  Afterwards,  they  are  invited  to  receive  the  prize  as  part  of  the  planned  activity  in  the  House  of  Minorities  and  spend  a  weekend  in  Flensburg,  Germany.    If  you  have  any  questions  regarding  the  competition,  please  send  an  e-­‐mail   to  the  address  below:
