The Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) invites proposal for organising Indo-Germanworkshop/conference on areas of mutual interest with an aim towards creating platform for substantiveinteraction between scientists/researchers from academia and industry. The workshop has to take place in Indiaor in Germany and to be designed around a specific research topic of mutual interest (out of chosen thematicareas listed below) with a high potential for generating follow up activities including joint projects of industrial
relevance.
Thematic areas advanced manufacturing (advanced materials, design engineering, rapid prototyping, sensors for
manufacturing, nanotechnology)
environmental technologies (water, climate/resources, renewables, sustainable land management) medical technology including diagnostics logistics research (intelligent transportation, logistic engineering etc.)
About IGSTCThe Indo-German Science & Technology Centre was established by the Govt. of India (DST) and Govt. ofGermany (BMBF) to facilitate Indo German S&T Networking and to play a proactive role in catalysinginstitute industry cross-border partnership through joint R&D efforts. The IGSTC envisions to:
advance industrial research partnership with mutuality of interest and respect create platform for cross fertilization of ideas develop knowledge networks for industrial sectors to enhance competitiveness establish joint knowledge pools to address global challenges serve as a nerve centre to promote Indo-German technology partnership
IGSTC promotes Indo-German research projects of industrial relevance in 2+2 mode of partnership involvingacademia/research institute and industry from both the countries with funding from both the Governments (visitwww.igstc.orgfor details).
Who can apply?Applicants from research organisations, state and non-state institutions of higher education, universities, andnon-university research institutions are eligible to submit applications.
Type and extent of support1. International and domestic airfare for participants2. Accommodation (expense for accommodation in decent reasonable hotel / guest house on actual costs
for not more than four days)3. Event costs (typically not more than 25-30 participants) (room rent, organisational & logistics
expenses, printing & publicity, entertainment expenses, miscellaneous expenses)4. Other expenses (can include costs for visa, airport transfers)
Evaluation process
Proposal will be considered on the basis of peer-reviews conducted both in India and Germany towards award
