Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome. Artwork must be photography-based and limited to a maximum height or width (including the frame) of 40 inches. Photographers must be age 18 or older. Prizes • Best of show $300 • 2nd place $200 • 3rd place $100 Prizes are awarded as gift cards from Hunts Photo & Video (Providence, Boston, and other locations and online) Dates Show dates: May 21 – June 12, 2015 Entry deadline: May 3, 2015, 11:59 pm MDT Awards reception: Thursday May 21, 5 to 7pm Fees $30 for three images and $10 for each additional entry. Limit of 6 entries per person. Online submission and fees are handled only through CAFÉ (CallforEntry.org), a free and easy-to-use online application system. Entry fees are non-refundable. How to Enter 1. Select 3 (and up to 6) images. Save each file as JPG, highest quality, sRGB color space, 1920 pixels on the longest side, and file size less than 5 megabytes. All entries will be anonymously reviewed, so name the file whatever you like but do not include your name within. 2. Go to CAFÈ and complete your entry before 11:59pm (Mountain Time) on May 3, 2015. Notification of Acceptance All applicants will be notified by email on May 6, 2015. A list of accepted artists will be posted on the PMFA website. Accepted Photographs for Exhibition Artwork can be hand delivered to the gallery May 16 and 17 from 1 to 4pm. Shipped artwork should arrive between Friday May 15 and Monday May 18, 2015. All work submitted for exhibition must be printed and framed professionally with either glass or plexi, and be wired with D-rings and ready to hang. PMFA recognizes that some work is non-traditional and incorpo- rates the framing as an integral part of the presentation. Prints on aluminum, wood, or other alternative material are acceptable. The maximum height or width including the frame must not exceed 40 inches. Photographs not suitably prepared will be excluded. Once unpacked at the gallery framed photographs may be evaluated once again. Printing excellence, mounting and framing qualities of each piece will be taken into account. Do not use sawtooth hangers, exposed glass edges, or cleats. Work not properly framed or damaged in shipment may not be exhibited. Print Service Distant photographers can use our print service to avoid shipping costs and mailing problems for accepted images. We print images at a good size to maximize impact at exhibition. The process is easy: 1. Save your file at 300dpi at one of the standard image sizes below (next page). Save as JPG maximum quality, file size less than 20MB. 2. Email the file to PMFA. Write “print service and [your name]” in the subject line of your email. 3. PMFA will email you a PayPal invoice for $40 per print. 4. Sales, Commission, and No Sales TaxAll work accepted for gallery exhibition must be for sale. PMFA will retain a 30% commis-sion on the sale of any work. Sale proceeds will be paid to the artist within 30 days of the close of the show. All photographs must be signed by the artist. The sale of signed, original, limited edition artwork in the state of Rhode Island is sales tax free.

Gallery Night ProvidencePMFA is a member gallery of Gallery Night Providence. The “Open Call” awards reception will coincide with the May 19, 2015 Gallery Night.

Every third Thursday of the month, from March to November, galleries across Providence, Rhode Island open their doors. Gallery Night Providence is a free event, and

celebrates art ranging from contemporary multi-media installations to one-of-a-kind functional artworks.Starting with nine determined galleries in 1996, Gallery Night Providence has grown into a regional visual arts extravaganza. Art buses travel the neighborhoods of Providence letting people on and off at galleries, museums and historic sites. Over 10,000 people each year enjoy exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures, live music and performances.

Legal Agreement• Participant’s Waiver

Submission of work automatically waives any claim for damage or loss against PMFA, including the officers, members and employees. PMFA will exercise reasonable care in handling all entries, but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while in the PMFA’s posses-sion or during shipping. Work may be independently insured by the photographer.

• Usage Rights Artists maintain copyright on all of their work. By submitting images you are giving PMFA the right to use the images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition and for reproduction online. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensa-tion from the PMFA. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use. Submitting artists will be added to PMFA’s email subscriber list. They may opt out using a link on each email at any time.

• PMFA reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.

• Payment of the submission fee indicates acknowl-edgement of all terms and conditions.

About the Juror: Rob Van Petten grew up in a Navy family and traveled extensively. He began documenting family travels in Japan at age 10. At 12 he borrowed his father’s Nikon and never gave it back.

After completing his degree in photojournalism from Boston University, Rob continued traveling the world creating brand images for Gillette, Timberland, Levi’s, Bose, Kodak, and Polaroid. Rob then specialized in fashion images for Reebok, Proctor & Gamble, Clairol, Converse, and Warner Bros, among many others. He worked on the introductory promotional campaigns for the Nikon D3x and the D800 cameras.

Over the past 30 years Rob has won numerous awards and has been featured in PDN, American Photo, and Digital Photo Pro. He has endorse-ments with Nikon, Dyna-lite and other equipment manufacturers.

Rob is an avid photo educator and speaker. He was Director of the Photography Program at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University. Rob speaks regularly on digital imaging topics, writes for Nikon World, Digital Photo Pro, and My Nikon World on Facebook, and is moderator of the Nikon Digital Learning Center on Flickr.

Rob is convinced that the power of photography is a force to implement global cultural tolerance.
