Notes on Lin Scan Caliper Performance Specifications
Ø Specifications are valid for defect in straight pipe
Ø Specifications are valid for achieved tool velocity between 0.2 and 3 m/s
Ø Specifications are valid for tool acceleration up to 3 m/s2
Ø Specifications are valid for sufficiently clean pipelines (as per LIN SCAN
cleaning criteria) Ø Caliper sensors must be in contact with pipe wall and odometer wheels
should not be clogged Ø Specifications are valid for specific temperatures not exceeding maximum
temperature indicated on the tool data sheet Ø If the actual minimum detection depth of features is less than stated above,
these features will be reported as analyzed. In such cases, the sizing accuracies may not be achieved.
Ø Specifications are subject to change according to specific requirements.
