President’s MessageDear Colleagues,

Even in the toughest of times, our solidarity leads us to victory.

While the November election continues to send shockwaves throughout our nation, here at CFA, we are working to ensure that the California State University system provides quality, public higher education for our students and the state. We marched and rallied in support of women’s and immigrant rights. We resisted and fought against attacks on scientific progress and academic freedom. We’ve invested time and resources into intensive anti-racism and social justice training so that we can be an even more inclusive and compassionate union. We’ve helped secure additional funding for the CSU through months of advocacy work, and will continue to educate legislators about the need to reinvest in the People’s University.

Like Assembly Bill 21—CFA-sponsored legislation that protects our students, our colleagues, and the university—we have been, and will continue to be, on the right side of every fight. We win because we stick together. Now, more than ever, all CSU faculty need to be CFA members (calfac.org/join-cfa).

This union is built on strength, solidarity, principles, and the desire to protect our university system. Nothing can shake that foundation, and together, we will continue to build upon our success.

In Union,

Jennifer Eagan, CFA PresidentProfessor, Cal State East Bay
