The brown bear is omnivorous and is the largest animal of all the Iberian
fauna. Its height is 1.30 cm and it usually hibernates during the winter. The
month of breeding for the brown bear is in November, usually of 1-3 young
per litter. There are several reasons why the bear is in danger of extinction,
but we can emphasize habitat destruction and poaching.

Ursus arctos
The Bearded Vulture is a specie similar to the vulture. It receives its name
because it takes animals bones and throws them away to break and eat them.
They lay their eggs in December. It is a endangered species in a large part of
its distribution. The main cause of the threat of extinction is hunting.

arroyos intermitentes.
This fish feeds on insects, larvae and other invertebrates. Breeding season
extends from March to July. They can perform two clutches per season in
which they deposit from 150 to 1300 eggs. Its population is found in the riv-
ers Duero, Tajo, Guadiana and Guadalquivir. It has a life expectancy of 4 to 6
years. It is a fish threatened by habitat loss: rivers and intermittent streams.
Squalius alburnoides

marzo a julio.

The black vulture (Aegypius monachus) is a species of the bird family Accipitridae
accipitriforme. The plumage is preferably black. The beak stands out a light gray, alt-
hough the tip is black. With a naked eye it does not discern which sex it belongs. Black
vultures tear the skin and feed almost exclusively of muscle, avoiding the viscera. The
female lays a single egg which the pair take turns incubating for 55 days. In early May,
the shell opens. This species is protected in several countries, after it has been pursued
for decades by shepherds who believed (wrongly) a danger to their herds.

Iberian Wolf has distinctive features such as their long, sharp fangs and sharp premo-
lars and molars. Their brains are highly developed, so these animals are considered more
intelligent than most other groups. They live in herds and maintain a hierarchy. They are
carnivorous and feed primarily on large herbivores and other smaller carnivores. This
species is endangered because it is persecuted by man.

Canis lupus
Elizabethan butterfly measures about 59 to 65mm. Their wings are red-dish brown and with many colours. They feed on some species of pine. After fertilization, the females begin laying eggs in isolation. These are developed during the month of July. The most important factor that threat-ens it is habitat destruction. It is also considered threatened by collection .

mente pequeños peces, anguilas, ranas y renacuajos. Pueden volar entre 100 y 250
km diarios.
Black stork (Ciconia nigra) is a species of bird ciconiforme. It is considered the
most primitive taxon of the genus Ciconia. Somewhat smaller than the familiar
white stork, feeds almost exclusively on animal matter, mainly small fish, eels,
frogs and tadpoles. They can fly between 100 and 250 km a day. The Iberian popu-
lation today is very meager. Because of the danger of total annihilation it is now
protected by law and their hunting and trapping for fur storage and collection of
eggs and chickens have been banned.
