From the President (Mike Schulz) Last month I wrote about the need for the members of this club to step forward and provide leadership in 2019. I’m very pleased to report that four members of the club were nominated for the 2019 board and all four of those members accepted those nominations.    The following nominees have accepted nominations to serve on the 2019 board:  President: Brad Wigton Vice President: Jeff Nelson Treasurer: Bill Mielke Secretary: Adam Russ  In addition, Robby agreed to continue his service as newsletter editor.    I would like to offer my personal thanks to these individuals for being willing to commit some of their valuable time to ensure that this club continues to exist for another year. Their willingness to serve is sincerely appreciated.  See you at the November meeting on Wednesday November 21st at The Rusty Nail.

From the Vice President ( Paul Urquhart )  November 2018 another year has come and gone and the same has happened for me. I will finish my term as VP at the end of the month and new officers will take over their new duties. I wish them the best and hope the club members will get behind them as you did for me. So I say thank you to you all.  I will be staying on as one of the equipment repair and mowing the grass people. I do not know if I will be here in Illinois for the full year so I do not want to take on an officer position and have to leave mid year. Now for the upcoming winter months this is the time to build, repair and update your hanger with new airplanes.  Bud is building a Warlock this is an older kit pattern plane, you can follow his build on YouTube.  Travis is building a Chipmunk. Larry is building a number of planes as always.  I am working on a Nobler control line plane that I am setting up as an RC plane.  I will be posting photos of the progress as I go along with the build. As for the rest of you, You to can post your building projects at membersforum@coleagles.com This is an Email address that will go to all the club members. You may also email info and pics of your build to Robby robb@digiplay.com  for inclusion into the newsletter.  Equipment info: The Cub will need some work on it this fall and I do not have a cost yet. I need to do some work on it to see what is necessary. I will advise you all as to the cost. The Scag and Toro are scheduled for oil changes before the get stored. It looks like we will have a weather station and webcam at the field soon, thanks Brad for the hard work on that. More information coming soon.  Thanks to all of you that came out to do the field clean up. We got everything done that needed to be done. Sorry for the cold and windy time today.  The update on the Cub low boy is that the parts are on order and it will be back

Secretary’s Report  October 2018 Meeting Minutes (Minutes by Paul in Ed’s absence)  New member Rich Granitz introduced himself he also is a member of the Sky Knights.  Brad talked about the weather station and webcam and he is still testing it at his home, will look at installing it at the field in the spring.  Nominations for new club officers were held and the following people were nominated:  Brad Wigton for President Jeff Nelson for Vice President  Bill Mielke for Treasurer Adam Russ for Secretary All of the nominees accepted their nomination.  Voting for the new officers will be at the November meeting.  Fall clean up of the field will be some time mid November.  Mike Schulz is going to look into the club Face book page and find out how others can post on the page.  Show and tell: Larry brought in a 1/4 scale Tiger Moth that he is changing out the electric motor to a gas.   Club members can use membersforum@coleagles.com for sending emails to all club members.

Membership Handbook The membership application form, handbook and acknowledgement form have been updated for 2018. All members will be required to read the membership handbook and return the handbook acknowledgement form with their signature stating that the handbook was read and understood in order to receive their membership card. The handbook can be downloaded from our website at: http://www.coleagles.com/index.php/club-documents/72-membership-handbook Once you have read the handbook, download, print, and sign the following acknowledgement form: http://www.coleagles.com/index.php/club-documents/80-handbook-ack-form and bring it to the next meeting.

Every club member is required to sign a new acknowledgement form each year. Please take some time to read the manual. AMA Membership Dues Reminder To protect you, the club, and the field property owner from liability, membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics ( AMA ) is required. You must have a current AMA membership in order to fly at the COL Eagles field! ===============================================================    

Member Spotlight  Paul Urquhart is working on a Nobler control line plane that he is setting up  as an RC plane. Photos of the build progression will be posted as Paul sends them.  The plane is a Top Flite Nobler..
