alcohol policy campus rec ID policy Patrons must present their UVM ID upon request by a Campus Recreation Employee. If your UVM ID card is lost or stolen, the card must be replaced at the CatCard office [located in the Davis Center]. If you forget your UVM ID, in order to gain access to Campus Rec facilities, you may retrieve it or purchase a $7 guest pass at the Campus Recreation front desk. All guest pass cards must be returned by the end of the day to avoid a $10 replacement charge.

The University of Vermont Campus Recreation Program is committed to providing the campus community with opportunities to recreate in a positive and safe environment. In accordance with UVM Alcohol Policy and to ensure the safety of all individuals, Campus Recreation prohibits patrons from attending or engaging in UVM Campus Recreation-related and/or sponsored activities while under the influence and/or in possession of drugs and/or alcohol as evidenced through the diminished capacity of motor skills, smell of alcohol, language confirming or suggesting alcohol consumption, demonstration of belligerence, or any other behavior that is deemed harmful or unsafe by Campus Recreation Staff.
Individuals suspected to be in violation of the UVM Alcohol Policy are subject to the following:• Immediate removal from facility. Failure to comply and cooperate with Campus Recreation Staff will result in UVM Police Services being called.• Pending review and investigation of the incident by Campus Recreation Staff, offending individuals may be subject to temporary or permanent loss of Campus Recreation privileges.
All policy violations will be reported to the Center for Student Ethics & Standards for Judicial Review.

The Campus Recreation front desk has items for purchase. Cash, check, mastercard, visa and Cat-scratch are all accepted.

Court Reservation
7 Racquetball courts, 5 tennis courts and 2 Squash courts are scheduled with the court reservation system on a first-come-first-serve basis. Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance. NO same-day requests will be accepted. Reservations are made by calling the Campus Recreation front desk (802.656.4483). One court (rac-quetball, tennis and squash) will be a challenge court only and will not be available to reserve.
Equipment Checkout
The Campus Recreation Equipment Room (located at the front desk) has equipment ready for checkout on a daily basis.

Guest PassesCurrent students, faculty, staff (full time), retirees and Campus Recreation Members, may sponsor guests on a daily basis. Spouses and dependents without a Campus Recreation Membership may sponsor a guest only during Family Hours. Guest passes are $7 per guest and may only be purchased on the day it is to be used. Each guest must be accompanied by his/her host for the entire visit. Guests may not participate in any Intramural, Fitness, or Special Events. Guests may not check out equipment and the pass does not include locker and towel service.

The Intramural Sports Program offers a variety of recreational team and individual sports. The goal of the intramural program is to provide opportunities for the UVM Campus Community to recreate in a sport-based setting with a focus on positive social interaction and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Leagues: Intramural activities are offered in men’s, women’s, and co-rec leagues. Some leagues are divided by competitive level (i.e., A = Competitive, B = Recreational).
Eligibility: All current students and benefited faculty and staff are eligible to participate in intramural sport events. All participants must present a current UVM ID prior to participating in any intramural activity.
Sportsmanship: Participation in an intramural program is a privilege. All participants and fans are subject to the UVM Code of Conduct, which will be adhered to by the intramural sports office. Conduct judged to be detrimental to the participants, program, or staff will result in appropriate sanctions against offending players and/or teams.
Intramural Sports RegistrationAll registration for intramural sports is done online by logging into the Campus Recreation registration page using 95# (students) or employee ID (94 + Peoplesoft ID) and your last name. Prior to registering for a team sport, have the following information prepared: •Team manager’s name & contact information •Assistant manager’s name & contact information •Team Name •Your league choice & times you are able to playPrior to registering for an individual/dual event, know what league/division in which you want to participate and the name and contact information of your partner.
*2008-09 Certified Managers are encouraged to be team managers again in 2009-10. Special meetings will be set for certified managers-see website for details.

Drop In Group Fitness Personal Training & Fitness TestingUVM Campus Recreation Personal Training & Fitness Testing offers programs for:
•Improving cardiovascular endurance •Increasing strength and flexibility •Enhancing sport specific skills •Ensuring utilization of proper exercise techniques •Working towards individual fitness goals •Improving overall health and wellness Our certified and professional trainers will ensure that you get the most out of your exercise program through emphasis on proper form, technique, and intensity. Personal Trainers are a great source of motivation and encouragement.
The Personal Training & Fitness Testing program is open to students, faculty/staff, Campus Recreation members and non-members. Options range from fitness assessments, introductory packages, to single and multiple training sessions. This program is offered continuously throughout the academic year and registration is available online.
A typical personal training package may include:•A fitness evaluation that offers a series of tests designed to assess cardio-vascular fitness, flexibility, muscular strength, and body composition.
•A personalized program is developed on the individual’s fitness results and personal fitness and health goals.
•Supervised exercise with the trainer will assure that the program is designed in a safe and effective manner.

The UVM Campus Recreation Drop In Group Fitness Program offers a wide variety of fitness classes designed to provide participants with a well-round-ed and complete fitness experience. We offer an average of 40 classes a week starting at 6:30 am and ending at 8:20 pm.
•Choose from our energetic cardio based classes such as step, kickboxing, zumba fitness, and cycle to improve your cardiovascular fitness and burn calories.
•Our specialty/fusion classes such as belly dance, indoor bootcamp and many happy hour formats bring fitness into a new dimension of funand sweat.
•Increase your lean body mass and muscle tone by including strength/ stretch classes like total body conditioning (T.B.C), functional interval training (F.I.T), butts & guts, and abs attack in your weekly routine.
•Work on balance, stabilization and relaxation in our mind/body classesincluding yoga, mat pilates, tai chi and more.
Our certified and professional instructors will ensure that you get the most out of your exercises through emphasis on proper form, technique, and intensity.
The Group Fitness Program is open to students, faculty/staff and Campus Recreation members. Classes are offered in the fall, spring, winter break and summer sessions. The unlimited fitness pass is available per semester and can be purchased on the Campus Recreation website. Individuals may also purchase one time passes for any class ($7.00).
We have three locations for Group Fitness Classes: Dance Studio, Gutterson Multipurpose Room and Patrick Multipurpose 217. We provide necessary equipment for all classes.

Instructional Fitness & RecAquatics
Youth & Family
The UVM Instructional Fitness and Recreational Program offers a wide variety of short courses that compliment other fitness programs and Physical Education. Most courses are formatted around four to six week cycles. Participants are offered the opportunity to receive specialized, individualized, and consistent instruction from a qualified teacher in a small group setting. The courses cater to a wide variety of interests and levels; ranging from introductory to advanced. Participants may choose to try a new activity or increase an existing skill. Our instructors bring their expertise and passion for sharing their knowledge and skills, while providing a welcoming and motivating environment.
Some examples of our courses include:•Conditioning Courses: Bootcamp, Triathlon and Downhill •Fitness Courses: Yoga, Pilates, Hip-Hop, Belly Dance, Self-Defense and many more•Certification Courses: CPR and Lifeguarding

The Aquatic Facility is used for open recreation swim hours, learn to swim lessons, summer camps, and group fitness classes.
Family swim starts at 5:00pm on Friday’s and all day Saturday and Sunday, please check schedule on line for open recreation times. The Natatorium is also home to Vermont Women’s Swimming & Diving Team – Go Cats Go!

The Youth & Family Program is committed to offering fun, safe, and dynamic opportunities for community youth.
Adventure Day Camp – Recreational Day Camp for Youth ages 5-11! •Registration opens online in February ; Employment opportunities available, applications accepted early February through mid-March.
Birthday Bashes – Youth ages 4-15 – Scheduled year round! •Let us plan the party while you relax and enjoy! All party supplies provided plus use of the pool, party room and gym.
Swim Lessons – Youth ages 4-11; Toddlers; Adults•Fall and Spring Courses available.•Private and/or group lessons available.

The Physical Education Program (PEAC) offers physical education activity & instructional classes to students in aquatics, fitness, dance, martial arts, and lifetime sports. Instruction is sequential and planned to develop and improve performance skills, to impart knowledge and concepts relevant to the activity, to introduce information concerning the fitness and health benefits of regular exercise, and to help students to develop and maintain physical fitness. These courses also provide opportunities for multi-cultural learning and socialization. Beginner through advanced level classes are provided in many activities.
Most classes are 1 credit and meet 2 times per week for 1 hour during the standard academic year. A majority of a student’s grade for a PEAC class will be based on class participation and attendance, but there is also an emphasis on skill development and knowledge growth.
