Get Help With the Homework Hotline! Have questions about homework? The Homework Hotline is here to help! The Wichita Public Schools is o�ering support for students at all grade levels. Students who have questions about their assignments, as well as parents who need support while helping their child at home, can call or email the Homework
Hotline. There are certified teachers who can answer questions on any assignment from kindergarten through high school. The Homework Hotline is open Monday through Thursday from 3:30 – 7:30 p.m.

In Reading, we are learning about… ● Communication ● We will be discussing how people and
animals can help each other, di�erent ways to enjoy music, how schools can be di�erent from each other, di�erent ways to communicate, and following safety rules!

We will learn about and produce opinion writing pieces. *In decoding and spelling will be working on silent letters (kn, wr) then vowel sounds of ow, ou, au, aw, al, and o. *As we learn new vocabulary words we will also learn about synonyms, su�xes and work on our dictionary skills. *Remember a third grader should be reading at home every night Monday through Thursday. * In math we continue to work on single digit multiplication and division. We will also focus on rounding numbers and measuring (time, liquid volume, and mass).
In Reading we are working on… *Comprehension with literature and informational text (fiction and nonfiction) using skills such as recognizing similes and metaphors, understanding text and graphic features, and sequence of events. *Spelling patterns including vowel+r words, compound words, and words ending in -ed and -ing *Grammar and Writing with a focus on nouns and pronouns as well as persuasive writing In Math we are working on…. *Applying what we have learned about area and perimeter of rectangles to solve multi-digit multiplication and division problems How you can help at home... *Practice basic multiplication facts! *Continue reading with/to your child. Pose questions (who, what, when, where, why) about the text.
