Michael Calderone was a shy, ath-letic boy with a bright future.
Hundreds of family and friends gath-ered within Mary Mother of God Par-ish, Tuesday (Dec. 29), to say goodbye to Calderone.
The 23-year-old Oakville resident was one of two young men killed Dec. 22 in a ery four-vehicle collision on the QEW, east of Trafalgar Road.
Timothy Boissiere, 23, of Oakville also died in that accident.
Following Calderone’s funeral, his parents, Joe and Lorie, spoke about the Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School graduate, who had been work-ing towards a career as a nancial trader and was a “die-hard Maple Leafs fan.”
“I had stopped watching them long ago, but I went down last night and found he had 15 games on PVR (per-sonal video recorder),” said Joe.
“He loved football. That’s what he did on Sunday — he watched football all day long. Last year, all the boys did fantasy football and he won the tro-phy and we put that in the casket with him.”
Joe said his son was “a smart kid” graduating from McMaster University’s Business and Commerce honours pro-gram in 2014.
An Oakville mother is calling on those who knew her son, Timothy Boissiere, to remember his smiling face and sense of humour.
Boissiere was killed on Dec. 22 in a ery four-vehicle collision on the QEW, east of Trafalgar Road.
The accident also claimed the life of Boissiere’s high school friend Michael Calderone.
Both men were just 23 years old.“He was a good kid,” said Char-
maine Boissiere, Timothy’s mother.“He was a comedian, to say the least.
He had a lot of acquaintances, every-body knew Tim, but he had very few good friends, so we always knew if he wasn’t with one, he was with the other.”
A graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, Boissiere attended Niagara College where he was enrolled in the culinary program.
Charmaine said he soon realized the culinary world was not for him and dropped out after the rst year.
Boissiere then worked a number of customer service jobs, the most recent of which was with the You Move Me moving company.
“At that age, he wasn’t really sure what he wanted to do, so he was kind of searching, I would say, for the right thing,” said Charmaine.
