PRESENTATION OF ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2007-08

Tr. Samrendra Tibarewalla presented the Annual Report for the year 2007-08 with a wonderful multimedia presentation of the same.

During the year Table constructed 3 schools Vidyasagar Vidyapeeth at Barasat , Baruipara Rakhal Vidyapeeth at Singur (Jointly with RT 41) and Amar Ghar Gyanpith at Barasat together benefiting

over 2500 students. During the RTI Week the Table along with CPLC 46 joined hands with Seven other city tables for various community service projects. The table also did several projects during the year on various

occasions such as Charter Day, Independence Day and the Landmark 800th Meeting of the Table. Apart from this Movie show for the Blind was organized jointly with RT 4 . The Table also donated for Kidney transplant & Cancer pa-tient. The total project done during the year was worth Rs. 11,89,336.

He reported that the fellowship during the year reached new peaks with a new concept “Sunday Ka Funda” wherein the Tablers along with Circlers and Twinklers participated in various

games and activities . Various editions were organized at places such as Birla High School , Wet O Wild, Sparks, Ladies Golf Club, Ordinance Club, Agarpara Jute Mills, BRC and CSC. Many theme based socials such

as Holi, Diwali, Pirates of Carribean, Walk like Egyptian, Sham-e-Awadh, Beijing Olympics, South Indian, Bachpan and Masquerade were hosted. There were 41ers night out, movie outings, tablers night out, discos etc. were a way of life at 34. Valentine’s day celebrations , Night out at Sohos , coffee meets were held. Anniversaries and Birthdays were never forgotten and always celebrated in style. Bagbaan—the grand parents day was once again celebrated in style. The outstation trip to Raichak . The “Koffee with Kaun” tradition was renamed “ Hum Tum aur Kaun “ and carried forward with a twist . Now , a Couple from other Table was also invited and it helped strengthen intra table as well as inter table bonds. The table participated in all area fellowship events during the year namely Badminton , Bowling, MTM Halla Bol, Oye Volley Ball, Holi Meet, Soccer, Geet Meet, Quick Cricket and Inter Table Fellowship events. The Table won 6 awards at Area AGM at Kolkata including the most coveted Best Chairman, Fellowship , Publicity and HRD. The table also won 6 Certificates of Merits in other categories.

Tr. Samrendra reported that fundraising event “ An Evening with Prof. Arindam Choudhuri” was a mega success and the Table once again managed to raise over 1 million from this event.

The table also raised funds by sale of Diwali crackers and Greeting cards. The table raised over Rs.7 lacs by way of donations. The total Funds raised during the year was Rs. 18,12,117.

Prof. Arindam Choudhuri’s event gave immense publicity to CPRT 34 and RTI Movement.

Apart from this publicity were also generated by means of logos and names put on school build-ings. Advertisement in “Ganashakti” inviting projects made people further aware of the movement.

There were Thumbs Up insertions in “The Telegraph” for our each and every project during the year.

The Table conducted various HRD’s during the year namely Effective Communication Skills,

How to Handle Stress, An Evening with Prof. Arindam Choudhuri and the TEXT Prog was attended by the incoming Chairman and Secretary.

During the year 2 new tablers were inducted : Tr. Vivek Agarwal and Tr. Priyavrat Himmatsinghka. LMF was awarded to Prof. Arindam Choudhuri.

Tr. Samrendra thanked his friend and Chairman Sundeep Mohta for support, HT Sumit for making him decide to take up this post and each and every Tabler and Circler of CPRT 34 and CPSLC 46. He also thanked his wife Alka . The Annual Report circulated by Tr. Samrendra was passed seconded by Tr. Manish Jain.

Chairman Tr. Sundeep welcomed all the esteemed guests and fellow tablers.

T he year has passed by in a blur and it only seems like a moment since I stood at an AGM accepting the Office of Chairman. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Nevertheless, I cannot help but retrospect.

A s Chairman, it has been my honour to represent CPRT34 at the Area level and beyond. I have been privileged to meet many wonderful people. The experience has helped me to grow as a person. The understanding how different individuals in a Table gel together has been enriching. I am truly blessed to be in a Table like 34 and I thank my proposer Sq.Leg Vinay Pachisia from the bottom of my heart for introducing me to this movement and a wonderful circle of friends. We at CPRT 34 worked together towards our common goal of Service through Fellowship.

O n the first day God made the sun; so the Devil countered and created sunburn. On the second day God cre-ated sex, and in response the Devil created marriage. On the third day, God made ME, and the Devil was stumped.After much consideration, he created SAM. Appointing Sam as my Secretary was the luckiest stroke in my Tabling career. Thanks Sam for being perfect.

I was indeed lucky to have a very hardworking team of conveners who arranged spectacular events with ease. They did this with an efficiency that is second to none. I thank all of you for your fresh ideas & implementa-tion. I am truly thankful to my entire fellow Tablers – the veterans, the young and the old for their tremendous encouragement, valuable guidance, warmth and friendship. Tr. Sundeep Mohta thanked his parents, wife Aparna, Cr, Rashmi and her band of merry women. He thanked Tr. Himanshu, Cr. Mona and Tr. Jiten for their wonderful support and guidance throughout the year.

F riends,If I made you laugh, you're welcome. If I made you cry, I'm sorry. If I changed your life, chances are you've done the same. I offer my apologies to anyone whom I may have hurt unintentionally during the past year. I am being befittingly replaced. I keep the fond memories and enriching experiences in my heart as I hand over and look forward to a fantastic year ahead. As National Fellowship Convener Tr. Manmohan has led by ex-ample. I would like to thank him for being there being there by my side always. Tonight it is my pleasant duty to request Tr. Manmohan to step forward and accept the jewel. I can assure you he will make a great Chairman. Thanks to one and all for a melodious Tabling year!!!

Chairman Manmohan Kothari then conferred upon Tr. Sundeep Mohta with the IPC Jewel. He also congratulated Tr. Sundeep Mohta for a wonderful year and presented him with a memento on behalf of the Table. He announced the Table Board for 2008-09 and presented them with the respected Jewels.

ADDRESS BY INCOMING CHAIRMAN

“As we were going through the agenda my eyes encountered the item—a brief address by Incoming Chairman. In my anxiety I misread the point as—an address by the Incoming Chairman in brief. I was a little taken aback. I thought to myself … aren’t we taking the RTI theme of— Adopt, Adapt and Improve , a bit too far. We are doing things too differently. I will speak in brief lest my misconception becomes a reality.” Chairman Tr. Manmohan addressed all the dignitaries on and off the dais, tablers , circlers, distinguished guests , ladies and friend. He thanked all 34ians for investing their trust in him. He thanked Tr. Sumit for initiating him to many joys of tabling. He sought support of everyone as he accepted the jewels of RT 34 Chairman. He went on to narrate a story emphasizing that there is no RT 34 Chairman without 34ians.

Chairman Tr. Manmohan Kothari conveyed that the Table HTs for the year are his proposer Tr. Sumit Nevatia, the Table Chairman when he was inducted Tr. He also said that it as it was unanimously decided at the Table Meeting , Sqleg Samir Agarwal will be nominated for the post of Area Honorary Tabler for the year 2008-09.

The incoming Treasurer Tr. Brijesh Dalmia moved the following resolutions: “ It is resolved that the Administrative and Project a/c of the Table with ICICI Bank , American Express Bank and Punjab & Sind Bank be continued and any two of the four incoming office bearers are authorized to operate the accounts.” The Resolution was passed being seconded by Tr. Vinay Kedia.

APPOINTMENT OF AUDITORS FOR THE YEAR 2008-09

The incoming Treasurer Tr. Brijesh Dalmia moved the following resolutions: “It is resolved that M/s. Agrawal Singhania & Co. be appointed as auditors for the year 2008-09.” The Resolution was passed being seconded by Tr. Anunay Khaitan.

The Budget for the year 2008-09 has already been circulated an approved in last Table Meeting.




ADDRESS BY CHIEF GUEST/ OTHER GUESTS

NST NVP(Elect) Tr. Himanshu Gupta Tr. Himanshu thanked IPC Tr. Sundeep for a very special evening which he is enjoying with friends at 34. Table 34 holds a special place which could not be expressed in words. He has shared some very wonderful moments with Table 34 which he will forever cherish. He said that Table 34 has made RTI proud. He congratulated IPC Tr. Sundeep for a wonderful year encircling all the facets of tabling. He thanked Tr. Rajesh Agarwal for everything, appreciated Tr. Samrendra for his Annual Report and acknowledged NHT Tr. Pankaj Poddar as silent worker for the movement. He wished Tr, Manish Jain all the best for his new post at Nationals. He further thanked NFC Tr. Manmohan for all his fellowship activities and wished the Chairman all the best for the coming year.

Area IV Chairman Tr. Jiten Garg Tr. Jiten Garg said that year after year Table 34 continues to challenge the limits. He thanked Tr. Sundeep for his support and Endeavour. He acknowledged Table 34 as “PRIDE OF AREA IV” . He wished Tr. Manmohan all the best and was sure that he will take 34 to new heights. He stressed upon the fact that Tabling will remain a platform for new friends.

Area IV AVC Tr. Zishaan Ali “ I have a dream that every other Table in Area IV challenges CPRT 34 for the awards.” He re-iterated that the coming year will be Rocking as Year of fellowship.

Area Observer Tr. Sameer Prasad Tr. Sameer congratulated Tr. Sundeep & Table 34 for an excellent year and gave his best wishes to Tr. Manmohan

LC46 Chairperson Cr. Vishu Kothari In her first official address as Chairperson CPSLC 46, Cr. Vishu Kothari congratulated Tr. Sundeep & Table 34 for an excel-lent year and gave her best wishes to Tr. Manmohan for the coming year.

Area IV HT Tr. Sahil Tr. Sahil remembered his association with Table 34 since he joined tabling in 1994. He congratulated Tr. Sundeep for over achievements. He said that Table 34 was an Iconic Table in all respects.

“Once I went into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The Shop owner pointed to 3 identical looking parrots on the perch and said that the parrot on the left cost Rs. 500. I asked the shopkeeper the reason for the price and he replied it was because the parrot knew how to use a computer. I then asked about the next parrot and was told that it cost Rs. 1000 and it was because the parrot knew how to use UNIX operating system. I was startled by the reply and asked about the third parrot and was told it cost Rs. 2000. I questioned the shopkeeper the reason for so high a price. An act based on Ramayan Chaupayis was presented by Tr. Rohit Bajaj acting as Pundit which was sportingly appreciated by all. He reported a collection of Rs. 7400/- for the table.

Greetings were received from Tables 4,12,17,38,41,53,63,67,106, 113 and Circle 27 and 46. Greetings were also received from all the HTs and Square legs of the Table who wished Tr. Manmohan and his team all the best for the coming year.

Chairman Tr. Manmohan Kothari closed the 33rd Annual General Meeting of the Table with a Toast to Round Table India and Round Table International. All joined in singing the National Anthem thereafter.

Vice Chairman Tr. Manish delivered Vote of Thanks “ On behalf of CPRT 34, it is my privilege to extend our special thanks to National Secretary Treasurer & NVP(Elect) Tr.
