I. LoggingintoCAIRfortheFirstTime
FollowtheinstructionsbelowtologintoCAIRforthefirsttime: AnemailwithyourTemporaryPasswordshouldhavebeensenttoyou.
• RegularandPowerusers:YourTemporaryPasswordwillbeemailedtoyouafteryouhavesuccessfullycompletedRegulartraining.
• Read-onlyusers:YourTemporaryPasswordwillbeemailedtoyouassoonasyouraccountiscreatedbytheCAIRHelpDesk.
Note:IfyoudidnotreceivetheemailwithyourTemporaryPassword,contacttheCAIRHelpDesk.1.GototheCAIRLoginscreenathttps://cair.cdph.ca.gov.1. OntheLoginscreen(seebelow)enteryour:
• OrgCode(yoursite’sOrganizationCode):Thisisnotcase-sensitive.• Username(yourindividualUsername):Thisisnotcase-sensitive.• TemporaryPassword:Thisiscase-sensitive.
Note:Ifyoudonotknowyoursite’sOrgCodeand/oryourUsernamecontacttheCAIRHelpDesk.2. Thenclickthe‘Login’button.
IMPORTANT:EachpersonloggingintoCAIRmusthavetheirownUserAccount.UseraccountsandPasswordsmustnotbeshared.

3. IfyourloginwasNOTsuccessful,thefollowingerrormessagewillappearon-screen.
Ifyoucontinuetogetthiserrormessage,youmustcontacttheCAIRHelpDeskbecausethe‘ForgotPassword’buttonwillnotworkthefirsttimeyouareloggingintoCAIR.
4. Ifyourloginwassuccessfulthefollowingscreenwillappear:
5. YoumustreadthisSecurityNotificationandthenclickthe‘IAgree’buttontoproceed.
8.YouwillthenbedirectedtochangeyourPassword.Passwordsmustcontain:• Atleast8characters • Bothupper-caseandlower-caseletters • Atleastonenumber • Atleastonespecialcharacterfromthecharacterslocatedabovethenumber1-9keysonyour

9.Clickthe‘Save’buttonwhenyouaredone.

10. OnceyouchangeyourPassword,youwillbedirectedtoset-upthreeSecurityQuestions/Answers.Thesewillbeusedifyoueverforgetyourpasswordandneedtoresetit.TheanswerstoyourSecurityQuestionsmustbe:• Aminimumoffivecharacters.• Canonlybeusedonce(i.e.,thesameanswercannotbeusedformorethanonequestion).• Cannotcontainawordthatisinthequestion.• Note:Answersarenotcase-sensitive.
11. OnceyoucreateandsubmityourthreeSecurityQuestionsandAnswers,youwillseeapop-uppromptingyoutoenteryouremailaddress.Clickthe‘Close’buttontoproceed.
12. Onthescreenthatappears,clickonthe“EditMyUserAccount”linktoenteryourcontactinformation.ThisishelpfulintheeventCAIRstaffneedtocontactyouaboutyouraccount.

13.Onthescreenthatappears,enteryourcontactinformationandthenclickthe‘Save’button.
14. Onthescreenthatappears,clickonthe‘CAIR’link(underApplications)inthebluemenuontheleft.
15. Youwillthenbedirectedtothescreenbelow.Clickonthelinkforyoursite’sOrgName.NOTE:Ifyouhavebeengivenaccesstomultiplesiteswithinyourorganization,youwillseemorethanoneOrgNamelisted.Selectthesiteyouwillbeworkingatthatday.
16. YouwillthenbeloggedintoCAIRfortheOrgyouselected.

II.TroubleshootingLoginProblems
CAIRwillautomaticallypromptyoutochangeyourPasswordevery90days.Whenprompted,followtheon-screeninstructionstochangeyourpassword.
Also,ifyoudonotlogintoCAIRfor90ormoredays,youraccountwillbeautomaticallyinactivated.Inthesecases,yoursupervisormustsubmitarequestthroughtheCAIRAccountUpdatewebsitetoreactivateyouraccount–theForgotPasswordbuttoncannotbeusedtoreactivateit.
A. ResettingYourPassword(ifyouforgetyourPassword)AfteryouhavesuccessfullyloggedintoCAIRforthefirsttime,followthestepsbelowtoresetyourpasswordifyoueverforgetit.
YouCANresetyourownPasswordusingthe‘ForgotPassword’buttonifyou:• ForgotyourPassword.• Hadyouraccountlockedfromtoomanyfailedloginattempts.
YouCANNOTusethe‘ForgotPassword’buttonifyouraccounthasbeenInactivated(seepage8).
IfyouenteranincorrectPassword,youwillgetthefollowingValidationErrormessage:
Youwillget5attemptstologinwiththecorrectlogininformation.Ifyoudonotsuccessfullyloginwithin5attempts,youraccountwillbelockedandyouwillgetthefollowingValidationErrormessage:
Ifyougetthismessage,youmustusethe‘ForgotPassword’buttontounlockyouraccount.

Onceyouclickonthe‘ForgotPassword’button,followthesestepstoresetyourPassword:
1.Onthescreenthatdisplays,enteryourOrgCodeandUsernameandthenclickthe‘Submit’button.
2. IfyouenteredyourcorrectOrgCodeandUsername,youwillbepromptedtoansweroneofyour
SecurityQuestions.
IfyoudidnotenteryourcorrectOrgCodeand/orUsername,youwillreceivethemessagebelow.IfyoudonotrememberyourOrgCodeand/Username,contacttheCAIRHelpDesk
3. IfyousuccessfullyansweredyourSecurityQuestion,youwillbedirectedtothescreenbelowtocreateanewPassword.Note:YoucannotuseaPasswordthatyouhavealreadyusedwithinthelast9times.
OnceyoucreateanewPassword,youwillbeautomaticallyloggedintoCAIR.

4. Ifyouremailaddressison-fileinCAIR,youwillreceivetheemailbelowthatconfirmsyourPasswordhasbeenchanged.SeePage9forhowtoaddyouremailaddresstoCAIR.
IfyouDONOTsuccessfullyansweryoursecurityQuestion,youwillreceiveyournextSecurityquestion,withanoteatthebottomlettingyouknowthepreviousquestionwasansweredincorrectly.
Ifyouareunabletoansweranyofyour3SecurityQuestionscorrectly,youwillreceivethemessagebelow.YouwillneedtocontacttheCAIRHelpDesk.
IfyoutrytologintoCAIRandyouraccounthasbeenInactivated,youwillreceivethefollowingValidationErrormessage:
Ifyougetthismessage,youmusthaveyoursupervisorrequesttore-activateyouraccountthroughtheCAIRAccountUpdatewebsite.Youcannotreactivateitthroughthe‘ForgotPassword’button.

III.ManagingYourCAIRUserAccountIfyoueverwanttochangeyourPassword,updateyourcontactinformation,orchangeyourSecurityQuestions/Answers,youcandothisviatwodifferentscreensinCAIR.
1. LogintoCAIR.2. OntheHomescreen(below),undertheManageMyAccountsectionontheleftblueMenu:
• SelecttheEditMyUserAccountlinktoadd/updateyourcontactinformation• SelecttheChangeMyPasswordlinktochangeyourPassword.• SelecttheSecurityQuestionslinktochangeyoursecurityquestionsand/oranswers.
Youcanalsogettothescreenaboveviathe‘manageaccess/account’linkwhichisatthetopofeveryscreeninCAIR.
