Term 1 Week 10 5 April 2018 Caddies Creek Public School Dear Parents, Hard to realise how much you can fit into a week sometimes. Photo Day went smoothly on Wednesday, though in hindsight, it probably wasn’t a good idea to have Caddies Carnival the day before photos for K-2 students, with some parents washing out coloured hairspray into the wee hours. Sorry if that was you! Our K-2 Easter Hat Parade was “eggcellent” (sorry!) and wonderfully organised by Mrs Chwah, and yesterday was our “Commonwealth Games/Sports Mufti Day” which was a lot of fun. Thank heavens the holidays are approaching so we can all take a breath! Our Parent/Teacher Interviews for most classes will take place from this Monday, April 9th to Friday, April 13 th . I mentioned Miss Morley (4M), Mrs Collins (6C) and Mr Moyes (6M) will be having their interviews in Week 2 next term, so look out for those separate notes. The School Interviews site will close at 12pm Friday, 6 th April. If you wish to organise an interview with your child’s class teacher after that time, please contact the school. At the P&C Meeting last Wednesday night President Jacqui Hoad mentioned that she and I had met with a representative from Blacktown Council regarding road management. She was very helpful and positive and will collect some data before coming back to us with some options as to how we can make the traffic issues around our school safer and more efficient. We were told our Kiss and Drop section is the longest in the area 180 metres long! One of the suggestions was to emphasise to parents that the way to use Kiss and Drop areas; that is, fill it up from the top down. People double park and hover around the exit gate, causing traffic gridlock, when often further up there is space. I think I have said this only two or three thousand times previously but it is true! Your kids will find you if you go further up promise. We love having parents come up to schools for assemblies and other events. Just a reminder to parents that while it is fine to take photographs or videos of your own children, clear images of other students are not to be published or put on social media without permission from their parents. We have some students at Caddies Creek whose image, for legal reasons, cannot be published. Please exercise the utmost care when taking and viewing images of students. Congratulations to Charlotte O and Angelique I on being selected in the Sydney West Girls Football Team to compete at the State Championships in Wollongong next term. What a sensational effort girls, and all the best for the next stage. As is the case with most years, ANZAC Day falls in the school holidays. Therefore, our ANZAC ceremony will be conducted beforehand, on Thursday 12th April at 12pm. We have special guests who will be attending this special and solemn occasion. It is one of the few times a year when the whole school gets together. Parents are most welcome to attend. Caddies Creek Public School Chronicle

Dear Parents,

Hard to realise how much you can fit into a week sometimes. Photo Day went

smoothly on Wednesday, though in hindsight, it probably wasn’t a good idea to have

Caddies Carnival the day before photos for K-2 students, with some parents washing

out coloured hairspray into the wee hours. Sorry if that was you! Our K-2 Easter Hat

Parade was “eggcellent” (sorry!) and wonderfully organised by Mrs Chwah, and

yesterday was our “Commonwealth Games/Sports Mufti Day” which was a lot of

fun. Thank heavens the holidays are approaching so we can all take a breath!

Our Parent/Teacher Interviews for most classes will take place from this Monday,

April 9th to Friday, April 13th. I mentioned Miss Morley (4M), Mrs Collins (6C) and

Mr Moyes (6M) will be having their interviews in Week 2 next term, so look out for

those separate notes. The School Interviews site will close at 12pm Friday, 6th

April. If you wish to organise an interview with your child’s class teacher after that

time, please contact the school.

At the P&C Meeting last Wednesday night President Jacqui Hoad mentioned that she

and I had met with a representative from Blacktown Council regarding road

management. She was very helpful and positive and will collect some data before

coming back to us with some options as to how we can make the traffic issues

around our school safer and more efficient. We were told our Kiss and Drop section

is the longest in the area – 180 metres long! One of the suggestions was to emphasise

to parents that the way to use Kiss and Drop areas; that is, fill it up from the top

down. People double park and hover around the exit gate, causing traffic gridlock,

when often further up there is space. I think I have said this only two or three

thousand times previously but it is true! Your kids will find you if you go further up

– promise.

We love having parents come up to schools for assemblies and other events. Just a
