DO NOT CONNECT YOUR READER YETOpen Active Client v6.1 folder

Click on the Start Icon

Click on Quick install

When the screen comes up, click NEXTThen click on the I accept the terms…and then click NEXT

Choose Typical InstallThen click NEXT

Then click INSTALL

After installing a window in the lower right corner will tell you a card reader is uninstalled.

Uncheck the Show me the Readme File Then click FINISHIf it asks to restart, choose no.

On the left side of the ActivClient CAC window choose BROWSE CD

Choose EXTRAS

Open the ACTIVIDENTITY DEVICE INSTALLER folder

Double click the ACTIVIDENTITY DEVICE INSTALLER.MSI

When the installer window opens, choose NEXTChoose I accept the terms and click NEXT

Click on the red X next to ActivIdentity USB reader V2 (XP USERS)Click on the red X next to ActivIdentity Activkey V1/V2 (Vista Users)Then click on the this feature will be installed on local hard drive

Click on ActivIdentity USB reader V3Click on the red X next to ActivIdentity Activkey V1/V2 (Vista Users)Then click on the this feature will be installed on local hard drive

Neither V2 nor V3 should have a red X next to them.Then choose NEXTThen choose INSTALL

Uncheck the show the readme fileThen choose FINISH

If asked to restart, choose no or later.

Close all programs and open the CD back up. Open the INSTALL 2ND folder

Run the setup.exe file

When the new window opens, choose NEXTChoose I accept the terms and conditions…Then choose NEXT

The info on this next screen is default and does not mean anything, just leave it there. Choose NEXT

Choose complete installThen select NEXT

Now choose INSTALLIt will ask you if you want to shut down. Choose NO.

Now restart your computer. Once you have rebooted:

NOW CONNECT YOUR CAC READERINSERT YOU CAC

Go to START, PROGRAMS, AVTIVIDENTITY, ACTIVCLIENT, Click on USER CONSOLE

Right click on MY CERTIFICATESClick on MAKE CERTIFICATES AVAILABLE TO WINDOWS

Click OK

YOUR READER IS NOW INSTALLED.
